Having the anemometer separate form the meter was a great idea for many reason, not only allows you to take accurate temperature without exposing the meter it shelf, but when you have to take flow and velocity from a duct above your head (on a 8ft ladder) you can see the reading and make adjustments with removing the "anemometer" from its position. Very accurate by comparing with another brand. The only reason to give four star was for the instruction or manual I should say. For a person that doesn't have used this type of equipment, the instruction require a little more explanation.
