Pearl Mantels 618-60 Crestwood Mantel Shelf, 60-Inch, White

I was concerned that my lathe & plaster walls would not hold the shelf, it is a bit heavy. I couldn’t locate the studs with any certainly so it was a guess. I drilled pilot holds into the bracket then determined where to place anchors to screw the bracket to. The shelf fit perfectly. I know that I didn’t hit a stud for extra support & am confident it will not fall off or tear the old lathe & plaster. What a beautiful addition to my home

The look and style of this "shelf" we are using as a mantel is great! We were able to install it ourselves, and the install was in a brick fireplace. Easy to install for a medium do-it-yourselfer. The brick install was challenging, but once I got the right bit, it worked fine. The ledger board is strong and the connection is perfect. You will want to make sure it is level though. Since we were drilling into brick, the bit traveled a bit and we ended up slightly off level. However, since there is such a tight fit with the ledger board, we were able to "shim" one end about a quarter inch, and it is now perfectly level. No issues with it holding on to the ledger board due to the shim.

I am so happy with the mantle I ordered. It is made well, the color and style is amazing and looks beautiful in my home. Was delivered with no issues or concerns.

What a bargain and it looks terrific on our brick fireplace wall! It doesn't fit perfectly flat on the brick surface but the mount is easy and sturdy so we're not worried. Installation was a breeze and the construction of the unit is very nice. Highly recommend and will buy again if we need one in our next home.

The mantle is great for the price. ALthough it doesn't feel like real wood, it is nice looking and arrived ready to hang. I was initially thrilled. Unfortunately the wall above my fireplace is bowed in the middle slightly and this long mantel really showed the gap. The wall is certainly not the seller's issue but one that could have been fixed with a more expensive or custom piece. It's a wonderful example of "you get what you pay for". Living in an apartment made the decision to go with inexpensive much easier.It wasn't easy to hang, taking two professionals some adjustment and extra screws to do so securely. They worked for over two hours to get it secure. The wood piece that comes with the model left it still giving way and relatively easily bumped off. It is too heavy for that to happen without some serious damage. I am glad I paid contractors to hang it. Adding weight to the shelf is limited as well, which wasn't a problem for me. Because of the issue with the wall, I decided to forgo the mantle and hang a big picture instead.If you know your wall is perfectly level and have some contractor skills, I still think it's a great price.

It’s a beautiful mantle and ties in the space nicely. It was pretty easy to install with the help of my father took us about an hour from unboxing to clean up. Only downside is it did not come with full instructions and the only “hardware” was the piece of wood the mantle sits on which I would have thought would have been a bit wider for the size of the shelf.

Love the product. Very well built, heavy. Just what I wanted. The measurements in the diagram did not represent well. I checked and double checked my measurements, ordered the one that was 4” larger all around. When delivered it was 10” too small all around.Customer Service said they would not allow a return or money back. So……

I’m BLOWN away with this mantel the quality is A+++++ I decided to take on the challenge by hanging this myself with no help and it came out great I could have had my contractor put it up which would have been 250 dollars but I took a chance.. Please note that this does not come with hardware I went to Lowe’s and spent 10 dollars total on screws and a masonry bit because I had to drill through a stone wall to get to the studs also make sure you drill pilot holes in the bracket (Included) before you put screws in it because you don’t want the wood to crack I highly recommend this mantel
