Q: How would it work on mushrooms? and how far apart are the blades

It should work well with mushrooms, as long as they are firm. The blades are 1/4" apart.

Q: What about dish washer? Aluminium will not turn black?

No it is not dishwasher safe I always use dish soap and hot water and rinse.

Q: Can this cut limes as well?

I would not use it for limes. The inside of a lime is too soft to cut through in a straight line.

Q: will this work with onions?

Probably not, the onions are too hard for the blades, which are made for cutting softer produce, like tomatoes.
