Travelpro Tourlite Carry On
I have an old "Ricardo Beverly Hills" black soft side 4 wheel that I picked up 12+ years ago at a Kohls (or one of those type stores) as a carry on (from now on referred to as old suitcase--OS). It worked pretty well, and I didn't travel as much then. Since Covid, I'm traveling much more often, both Internationally and domestically, and the wheels are starting to give out and the telescoping handle is starting to stick. So I've been eyeing Travelpro--specifically the Crew Classic carry on. It went on sale over the holidays so I ordered one. It was very nice, well constructed, classy. However, it was a full pound heavier than my OS--7.7lbs empty, to be exact (don't believe the website, I weighed it myself with a handheld scale). Well, many Asian and European airlines have weight limits for their carry ons (7kgs/15lbs), plus I'm 60 and short and weight matters lifting those suckers over my head. (I only bring carry-ons--for what I do I can't chance losing all my stuff to baggage purgatory.) So I went back to Amazon and found this suitcase--the Tourlite Softside. You can't find it on the Travelpro website, so I think it isn't made anymore. It was $90 cheaper than the Crew (even on sale), and a pretty color (purple), so I ordered it. It's the same size as the Crew, but a full 2lbs lighter (5.6#). Lighter even than the OS. In comparison to packing volume, the TP is the same hight and depth but an inch narrower. It makes up packing volume by dropping part of the case down between the wheels, while OS is basically a box with 4 wheels attached. I still think it loses a bit from the wheel wells, but the inside measurement of the hight is an inch higher than the OS, so I think the volume is very close. Wheels roll at the lightest touch, and handle telescope is solid. I also like that the large front pocket is larger than the OS, so you can slide full sized paperwork into it, plus it has a small top outside pocket for small stuff you need to reach easily. The OS has shoe pockets on the inside of the lid, which I prefer, but I can adjust the one large inside pocket since it does have a small zippered pocket inside the larger cavity. What I really like it the expansion zipper goes around the bottom, making the case more stable when expanded, while the OS had it's expansion zipper over the top, make it less stable when expanded. I suspect that the Crew is a little more well made and would last longer, and if you travel domestically only I would still recommend it--but I couldn't tolerate the extra weight. I purchased a July carry-on last year for my trip to Australia, since the Light is only 3.4lbs, but it is hard sided and very small, which severely limits how much you can fit in it. I still use it for overnight/2 night trips sometimes, but I need more space for the 4-5 days I usually spend in Asia. I have only used it a few times so far, but it's worked well for me and I look forward to another decade of hard use.

Exceptional Quality and Lightweight!
I am a kitchen sink packer and was looking for a luggage set that was excellent quality, roomy, and actually lightweight. This set exceeded my expectations and it's worth the additional cost. My previous luggage set was extremely heavy and would always be over the 50 lb weight limit for checked baggage so I always had to bring my carry-on to cover the excess weight. However, when I packed the same items with this set, my luggage barely made 40 lbs and I no longer needed my carry-on. The zippers are sturdy/durable and the spinner wheels makes pulling a breeze. The deep purple is a beautiful color and cleans easily with simple hand soap and water. I just bought this set in early Feb and just used it in late Feb so I hope it lasts just as long as my previous luggage set (which was over 10 years). If not, l like that Travel Pro has a warranty so that's what pushed me to purchase. But so far, so good and I will update this review if it anything changes.

Over-packers anonymous official suitcase! lol
Official suitcase of the over-packers anonymous club (of which my wife and I are lifetime members!). I Googled for hours to determine which company made the largest and lightest suitcase available. At the time, this was it -- maybe there are companies that have shaved an ounce or gram off since then, but I doubt it. This suit case lets you pack an extra five to 10 pounds more than your old suitcase. It rolls like a dream. One drawback: not separate section with a hook -- but I just put my suits and shirts in suit zip-up thingy -- you know the one they give you when you buy your suits, and fold it on top. No problem. If low weight so you can pack more crap is your goal -- this is your beast of a suitcase. Best of all, the rolling is slick and effortless. Really well made. Was so impressed with this one, I purchased two more.

Great bag - good value
Have not used it yet but we have other Travelpro items that have lasted well. I needed a new 29inch larger suitcase. I think the upgraded models they sell are not worth it - basically - you are paying for more stuff inside to hang your suits in and store other items - this just adds unnecessary weight - I use my own thin garment bags to put things on hangers and packing cubes. the exterior fabric does not seem any better in the higher priced versions (went into a store to check this out) - just a fancier maybe different look. wheels seem sturdy and I prefer soft to hardside because you have zipper compartements that you can have easy access to - like putting a coat into before you check the bag, exp if changing climates and you do not want to carry it around, etc.

Good Product But…
This is my second purchase of the same carry on model. The first one had the stitching give way after about five years. I travel a lot, so I got my money’s worth out of it but wished it had lasted longer. This carry on is lightweight and has four rollers which helps me navigate through the airport labyrinth. I noticed many flight attendants use Travel Pro. I use packing cubes, available on Amazon, which helps in being able to pack more.

Travelpro was excellent.
Needed a little larger size than carry-on. This sturdy expandable luggage with dual 4 wheels is perfect. Excellent for checking baggage with plenty of space.
