A Reliable Hard Rubber Training Knife
For my profession I wanted something to use as practice for a real life scenario. After looking through a great amount of training knives and fake knives, I stumbled upon this rubber training knife. The color of this knife doesn't depict the everyday style of a knife so some people made be thrown off and discouraged by the resemblance. Using rubber as a description is a bit misleading as it's not the typical bendable rubber used everywhere. The rubber is a hard rubber capable of causing damage to something or someone so beware! The rubber knife has some weight to it, enough to feel if actually making contact. For training purposes the knife fairs well in weight and material used due to similarities of a real knife. For training I use this knife in defensive tactics and practice using a lot of defensive moves making this knife like the real thing. The knife does have good durability and will last a very long time. Dropping it or hitting an object barely leaves a mark, if any. The knife length is 12", so use the length to figure out which scenarios you would want to train with it.

Cold Steel Always Seems To Get It Right When It Comes To Their Trainers.
Good training gear is important regardless of the skill that we are practicing or learning. In order to become and stay prepared, especially in a self defense application, getting as realistic as possible is imperative. Within our NTC Method, we focus on a lot of knife training and drilling. There are various tools, in the form of training aides, that need to be used which all depends on the mission at hand. When it comes to rubber training knives, Cold Steel Training Knives, are some of the best that I have used. Recently, I decided to review the Cold Steel Leatherneck training knife which mimics the USMC Fighting Knife made by Ka-Bar. Since I own a couple of Ka-Bars & have them with me in the field, it makes sense to use a training knife that has very similar dimensions. Cold Steel really seems to get it right when designing their training knives to resemble the real blade. I own tanto’s, M9’s, trenchers & other trainers that are made by Cold Steel. After years of use, they are still serviceable and I use them for my personal practice as well as with my students. The rubberized training blades are not always the best choice when it comes to specific training. If I am working with students on disarming & locking drills, I prefer an aluminum blade. But for most soft-work and especially with beginner students, my goto training knives are the “rubberized” Cold Steel blades. The term rubberized can be deceiving. Yes, these training knives bend but they are a tough piece of plastic. You can still cause serious damage to you as well as your training partner so be careful & wear eye protection. If you are in the market for new training knives, take a close look at these Cold Steel Training Blades. They may be exactly what you are looking for. Use it as a haunted house prop.
I bought it as a prop for the haunted house I worked at every Halloween season. It fits perfectly in a K-Bar sheath. Despite all the things I banged it up against, it's still in good shape. You don't know how many customers ask if it's a real knife. Overall, it's a good item.

Excellent, but doesn’t fit Ka-Bar classic leather sheath well.
Great trainer, but would be much better if it fit in the normal Ka-Bar leather sheath for more realistic training. Large, thick blunt tip prevents this without damaging the ka-Bar sheath with repeated use. Otherwise - excellent balance and feel. Definitely use EYE PROTECTION for force-on-force training - the material is stuff and could cause skin/eye damage. Almost a 5/5

This by far is the best fake knife (K-Bar) .. well actually it is the only one I have ever purchased. However, i purchased this to "fit" my KIT... For some unknown reason (like safety, sheesh) some facilities frown on REAL edged weapons when playing AirSoft. So I now have this... On the down side, the tip is thick, like 1/4in thick. I get it, but it is restrictive in my REAL K-Bar sheath. So i chopped the tip off, keeping it blunt of course. I did not want to Troop around with an empty sheath flapping (lame-o) .. some place dictate it has to be BLUE in color... this item is BLACK, but with some colored take Ta-Da it can be blue if the facility I am playing at requires it to be BLUE.... this is exactly what I was looking for

Good Trainer
Just put this trainer through sparring this afternoon. I would say it was an overall positive experience. The blade is solid enough to check the arm or parry shots but has enough flex to ease the stabs and slashes inflicted. The blades are durable like all cold steel trainers and do not warp or mar easily. The warnings say not for sparring purposes but as long as you are not being a total douche while sparring you should be fine. We were able to spar at full speed without suffering serious injury. If you are wary of your contact and don't spar like you want to genuinely injure your partner things will be fine. Solid contacts do leave minor bruising. If you are to much of a pansy for that kind of injury by all means stick to shadow boxing or practice on your teddy bears. This blade is noticeably lighter than any 7" blade, this is something I can live with.

Great training tool!
It’s a great training knife, just be aware that if training intensity is high, it is stiff enough to cause injury. Beginners may be better off using softer foam products even though they don’t last long, then using this one after a little experience. Another great option is to slide a foam tube over the polymer “blade” area of this item if stabbing techniques will be part of the training session. I’ve found that works very well.

Es muy útil para el entrenamiento de técnicas de desarme empleadas en los cursos de defensa personal, tiene el peso aproximado y las medidas de un cuchillo ligero.

Almost exactly as I expected. This knife is not sharp, and it's got a decent weight to it (not lifelike but it ain't paperweight either) and a good feel, and I do not at all doubt that it could be used not only to accidentally break bones but in the right hands it could even truly double in a pinch as a weapon for self-defense because it -hurts- getting jabbed with this thing. The quality is excellent, but I would have dropped a star because honestly I don't like the feel of the blade itself, like the original designers weren't thinking well of the handle, the handling just feels alien to me, generic, not designed for proper grip and feel for frequent use. But that is not Cold Steel's issue, that's a personal preference issue, so I still give this blade a 5-star. I can find not even a nick in it, and for added safety with the double-sided blade point (where it could be quite painful even for a hard-rubber/plastic blade) is widened. This is a good product.

Sturdy but not too sharp or only plastic or too bendy. Great training knife to last long and to withstand rigorous fighting over it. Not afraid that I would seriously hurt someone with it. Personally using it for jiu-jitsu weapon training, razor’s edge workshop, self-def practise, rolling with knife.. Best knife to get! Def worth paying more for this than for the cheaper (well selling) ones (friends had them - one broke into two halfs and the other one was plastic with very pointy top - had to tape it)

It's a good knife and is good quality I would recommend for its price and quality because it's really good and it's a perfect training knife.
