My guinea pig love them
As a pet owner, I am always looking for high-quality food options for my pets, and the Vitakraft Small Animal Timothy Hay for Guinea Pigs is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a healthy and nutritious food option for their furry friend.First of all, the hay is of high quality and smells fresh, which is important when it comes to feeding my guinea pig. The hay is made of 100% timothy grass, which is a great source of fiber and helps to support digestive health. The packaging of the hay is also very convenient, as it comes in a resealable bag that helps to keep the hay fresh for longer. The bag is also easy to store and doesn't take up too much space, which is important when you have limited storage options. When it comes to my guinea pig's reaction to the hay, he absolutely loves it! He is always excited to eat it and I have noticed an improvement in his overall digestive health since switching to this hay.Overall, I would highly recommend Vitakraft Small Animal Timothy Hay for Guinea Pigs to anyone looking for a high-quality and nutritious food option for their pet. The hay is of excellent quality, smells fresh, and is convenient to store, making it a great choice for any guinea pig owner.

Fresh, Green, Soft
I had been ordering the main brand (Oxbow) for all my Timothy Hay needs for my guinea pigs. I saw this price was lower & I really like the products Vitakraft puts out, so I read a few reviews and decided to give it a try. I comes in the one big bag but has inside 2 mini-bales lengthwise, still with the straps in the bag. I had completely run out of their Oxbow & instead had to use some obscure hay I had on hand for 2 days. When I opened the Vitakraft package I noticed the green color of the hay, then the texture, it was soft, not filled up with those large brown stalks, instead this whole package was filled with an extremely high grade of Timothy Hay. There was a bit of powder/dust from the cutting of product into small bales & shipping. But my guinea pigs raced to eat this hay. I am impressed. I like to think I would not like for someone to always buy me the very same thing to eat each and every day. So I try to make their food interesting. This type of hay helps.

I haven’t tried it, but the wild bunnies keep coming back for more...
I haven’t tried it, but the wild bunnies keep coming back for more...On the evening where I placed some hay in my front yard, where the bunnies typically come out of the bushes to graze on my grass, I was quite surprised how quickly they found they hay.Their adorable little noses sure work well! I no sooner than placed the hay back in the house, with maybe 20-30 seconds passing before I went back out front and find them already nibbling their hay.I had fresh mounds of hay around the yard every evening, which is when wild bunnies are most active. I would say about 75% of the hay does get warmer up by the bunnies, but they leave the large twig looking pieces behind. For $4 a bag and free shipping, I don’t mind the 25% waste, which I can easily rake up weekly.Overall good purchase, happy bunnies and have brought much joy to my days finding cute bunnies in my yard more often now then before.Win win! I recommend this item

Quality control issue?
Been purchasing this brand of Timothy hay for almost a year now, and have never really had an an issue with it. Overall it's cheaper than other brands I've seen, has a decent amount, and my buns love it. Across the various bags I've purchased I've noticed slight differences in the batches (ie color, texture, thickness, etc.), but that's to be expected and I have no issue with that. However, the last 3 bags have had miscellaneous leaves, twigs, or clumps of dirt mixed in with the hay. I'm not sure if this is a result of poor quality control, if it's safe for the buns to ingest, or if anyone else has encountered this issue before, but I've never had this problem until these recent bags. I wasn't planning on leaving a complaint, but having sifted through the bags over a few weeks and recently finding a huge chunk of dirt the size of my palm (shown in the pic), I've decided to write one so others are aware of it. Overall I will still continue purchasing, but I hope the quality checking is improved so I don't have to be wary every time I pull hay out for my buns.

My baby loves it, I love it !
I am so glad I chose to buy this. I was so scared as some other reviews ( somewhere else’s) mentioned the hay been spoiled and having little creatures. Lol if you know what I mean.Well, when it arrived and I opened it immediately the smell was so fresh, so I was very happy at first sight, but then I put it for my bunny chestnut and she can eat this so fast. She really, really loves it.If my baby is happy and am happier. We rescued chestnut from an animal shelter and of course I only want the best for her.I love the priceThis product is freshAnd although I haven’t taste it myself lol it look like it’s really yummy for the tummy. I will keep buying and I recommend it to any bunny lover.Thank you for providing this seller. God bless you!

Just use it as a litter box filler
I’m rating this based on value rather than freshness. This comes with allot of brown bits and foxtails as well as inedible straw. it’s also not as green as the higher-end brands and looks a bit faded. I mainly use this to fill my rabbits litter box since it’s inexpensive and easy to unpack compared the other brands. They also use their litter box more consistently when the bedding is just pure hay. For that purpose it’s an easy 5/5.

My Guinea pig likes this better than other brands.
So, let me first start by saying, I've tried a few brands of hay for my son's guinea pig. Many of the hays we have tried tends to be too dry and the guinea pig only ate the ends of the hay for the most part. So much went to waste as he refuses to eat dry hay. So I decided to give Vitakraft a try. To my surprise, this product is great. The pieces are not too large, which is what my guinea pig prefers, it has good moisture content, but not too high, and the bag is a resealable bag.. I can't tell you enough how important the resealable bag is! I have 3x less waste with the Vitakraft hay. I know every animal is different, but for our little piggie, this is definitely for us.
