My favorite hose because it is free of toxins and lightweight and last for years
I have ordered this exact hose before and I loved it because it is FREE of toxins and lasted for several years and almost never kinked. It is great quality, safe to handle or drink from and incredibly durable. The 400 series is a slightly smaller diameter of the hose which I LOVE and now prefer because it is light weight and easier to manage and yet super tough like the bigger diameter hoses. You would be hard pressed to tell any difference in the water per second coming out of the hose so it is a win win. I also think the pricing is fantastic for this type of hose. If you ever go to the store to buy a hose, if you look closely, there is a warning that the hose materials are known to cause cancer and that you must wash your hands after touching the hose. Are you kidding me? Why would anyone buy a toxic cancer causing product like that? Probably because most people are not aware. So i looked for a "drinking water hose" which means it cannot have the toxic chemicals and require you to sterilize your hands if it touches the hose. This hose is a drinking water hose and thus, safe to use. You don't have to wash your hands or feel that you are dispersing toxins into the environment. By the way, the color is a great color to not be obtrusive like a lime green hose could be.

Fantastic hose!
This is a fantastic hose! Very slim and light, easy to move around, fits easily on my hose reel with room to spare, and looks good, too. We do a lot of backyard gardening, and our lot is pretty deep, so we need a 100' hose to reach all the areas of the yard. I previously was using 5/8" hose, which provides good water flow, but was difficult to work with - heavy to pull around, easy to damage plants, hard to maneuver, and the weight was prone to moving sprinklers slightly out of alignment. This hose is 1/2" in diameter, which means that it is noticeably thinner and lighter than a 'normal' 5/8" hose, and is much more light and maneuverable to use. That means less damage to plants, and much less frustration with dragging the hose around and trying to get it perfectly positioned with the sprinklers. One point to note is that the water flow is reduced due to the smaller hose diameter, but as long as you understand that going in (which I did) it's an acceptable trade-off. For me, what that means is that instead of being able to water my entire back lawn using two sprinkler moves/positions, I now have to use three moves/positions. That small inconvenience is more than made up for by the overall ease in using this hose for all of our other needs, but if you have specific requirements for maximum water flow, this smaller, thinner hose might not be a good choice. The quality of the hose material is also top notch, and it has the look and feel of a hose that will last for a long time. I have the intention of coming back to update this review after a few seasons to speak to longevity, but having owned a lot of hoses over the years, I can tell you that my early impressions after a couple of months are that this will be an outstanding and durable hose. Oh, and my wife *loves* the eggplant color. :)

Best hose yet!
This is probably the best hose I have ever had in my life. It’s light yet strong and doesn’t kink. It’s easy to maneuver around the yard. The only downside is that the pressure isn’t very high and what I’m used to, but it works for what I need it for.. I know that this company makes a more expensive hose that has better pressure but this one does work, again for what I need it for I will be getting another one.

Mostly good, but severly restricted flow.
I took a chance on this hose. It is, by a wide margin, the most expensive hose that I've ever purchased. After patching holes in old hoses that I've had for almost a decade now, I decide it was better to spend a bit more for something that will last longer. Some reviews mentioned the restricted flow while others seemed to indicate that this is not a big issue and hardly noticeable. For me, it is definitely noticeable and is the main drawback with this hose since it limits the applications to garden watering; you may not want to use this with an impact sprinkler or a pressure washer as there is a notable drop off in flow rate. I have a few other minor complaints such as the tendency to "stick" more so than other hoses I've owned. That said, there are many benefits to this hose. For starters, the smaller diameter yields a significant weight savings. This hose is extremely maneuverable (minus the "stickiness") and light, even in 100 foot form. You can easily pull out all 100' and move around with it without issue. The weight also means that it winds with less effort. The savings also apply to the size as well. It will take up less space on a reel. If you are shopping for a general purpose hose, consider getting the bigger version of this hose. If you want ultimate maneuverability for watering in the garden, this is the hose for you. As long as you know this, then you won't be disappointed. Given the premium price tag, I hope it holds up!

Great water hookup hose for an RV
I use this to bring water to our RV, which is sometimes pretty far from the tap depending on whether we're using it at home or at some more challenging sites. It's very lightweight and packs up taking minimal space. We've been using ours for about 5 years now, no issues. Coiling it up is a little bit tedious because it doesn't necessarily want to be coiled, but it's so lightweight and skinny that you can basically hold the coil in place with one hand. I use 3 thick Velcro strips to hold it securely into a coil for stowing. It doesn't kink easily and the quality is worlds better than any RV / marine potable hose I've ever bought. Drinking water through it has no funny taste, at least the hose doesn't add any additional funny taste that wasn't already there. For my application, I'm very satisfied with it.

Update 2024. 9 years and still no leaks! Update 2022: This hose is still going strong! 7 years and counting. Amazing quality and value. So far this water hose has been worth EVERY penny! Watering used to be a chore I hated - dragging the heavy stubborn hose around the yard, sometimes smashing plants in the process. And then the task of winding it back up, all 100 feet and what seemed like 100 lbs of it. What can I say - I hated it! This hose was very easy to install, it is LIGHT! It doesn't kink, even if it accidentally gets on the flower bed in the process, it doesn't cause a lot of damage. I was considering buying one of those shrinking hoses but the reviews were overall negative and I wasn't confident it'll last a season. This product is of high quality and comes with manufacturer warranty. It looks and feels like it'll last for years. The metal hardware doesn't seem cheap or fragile. The fact that this hose is BPA-free is an added bonus! The only possible downside is that because the hose is substantially thinner than the typical hose, the water pressure will be lower, so if you use your hose for power washing that's something to keep in mind. It works perfectly for my needs however and this isn't a concern for me. I'm one happy customer!

This hose leaked immediately. Water spurts out from between the plastic of the hose and the metal fittings. It was securely screwed onto our tap, and engaged the seal easily, but still leaked no matter how tight it was fitted. This was extremely disappointing because this product would have been perfect for our needs, such a shame.

I initially bought a few of the flexible / expanding hoses which ALL malfunctioned on either the first use or within a few days. Those were all 20-30 bucks. I decided to look for something more durable but also light enough to move along my yard. I landed on this hose because of the reviews, the length, "skinniness", and just curb appeal based on what i saw in pictures. I've been using this the last month now and its been EXCELLENT! Doesn't get tangled overly, pretty light, and easy to manage. Definitely going to buy at least 2 more for my sprinklers in the yard :D

This is the 2nd time I have bought this hose. I love love love it. The hard part is getting it straightened out when you first purchase it as it comes wound like a cobra, as all hoses do. Once you get passed straightening it out, it is all good. I have trouble walking. I had a great hose before but it was heavy and it was going to make me fall, so I had purchased a hose like this last year for my garage to wash the car and water the flower beds in the front. I loved it so much that when I really needed to change the hose in the backyard, I specifically looked for this hose again to use in the backyard to water the garden. And bonus, it is a drinkable hose, just what is needed for the garden. I love this hose and if I ever need another hose, I will look to buy this one.
