One of the best stories ever written
I've read this book so many times and every time I discover something about it that I didn't see before.I'm not going to list the characters, or their characteristics because anyone reading this review already knows about them. But the plot and the general story are just so well-written and well-executed. Basically, if you love paradoxes, this book is just one long paradox. All the characters are paradoxes as well. Really, when you strip it down, it doesn't have a specific meaning, and I think that's kind of the point of this lovely work. There's no point, and none of the events matter in the long term because the events are also paradoxical. It really draws a parallel to every day life. It doesn't matter how long ago it was written- it's themes still hold true. This book is a work of art. It's magnificent, and if you're a literature buff and by some crazy miracle have not managed to read The Picture of Dorian Gray, please do! And while you're at it, check out Oscar Wilde's plays. They're hilarious. The prose is wonderful, and while this is a character-driven novel, it still manages to be a page-turner. I've loved this book ever since I first discovered it.The copy I purchased was massive. A little too big, to be honest, but that's my fault for not having carefully read the dimensions. Still, it's a great addition to my physical library!

easy read edition so bad, not a scent of classic. few words barely shown in old english...
I like the story-line and the subject, but i carefully cast a doubt on every phrases and sentenses on the book for being easy to be understood. I doubt the fact that this book is kinda far from the very edition published through oscar's examination, because, unlike other classics, this is so easy to read. comparing the fact i had to so much time on gatsby, this is just a piece of cake or something. Not that i've been intellectually improved because i still get confused while reading other classics.p.s. my colleague recommended and i bought the wrong one

Great story -- poor quality edition.
While the story is a great classic, this particular edition is printed in a form that makes reading it quite awkward. The pages measure 8 1/2 x 11. This large size, plus the soft cover, causes the book to flop a lot and to be impossible to hold steady with only one hand. The lines of type are unusually long and make visual scanning difficult. Also, the pages are not numbered so it's hard to reference anything to another reader.

Read the fine print. I didin't
This is an 8.5" x 11" size book. Not the paperback size my daughter wanted. Read the fine print. I didin't.She has not read it for School yet.

A must-read
A truly amazing book. The author provides rich detail and manages to question the most basic tenets of society in a manner that can leave a deep impression on the reader. Absolutely worth reading.

Very disappointed in this order
Was not in regular book form as I expected. Not a convenient way to read a book at all. Wish it was more clearly stated that it was coming as an 8.5"x11" workbook looking book. After seeing others' reviews, I see other customers felt the same. Very disappointed in this order.
