010417 Cool Cover Air Tube Cover Kit, Fits 4.5" Diameter Tubing

Attempted to wrap my air intake this evening using the DEI Cool Cover Air Tube Cover Kit. I should have saved myself the headache and just returned it, but I really wanted to try to make this product work. In fairness, my intake is NOT straight and does have a pretty hard bend at one point. The material weight (thickness) is satisfactory, but hard to work around bends (especially sharp ones). The quality of the stitching is awful. After about 5 times of fastening and unfastening the velcro, the stitching was already coming undone and the velcro was coming off in spots. I figured no big deal since I could try to fix it with a sewing machine. Things just got worse from there. My intake has brackets that hold it in place and minimize movement, which meant cuts had to be made in the material to allow for these. No problem since a pair of scissors cuts right through it with ease (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A DUST MASK) because you WILL have fiberglass particles EVERYWHERE afterwards. After making the cuts I did one last test fit, a little tug here and there to make sure its fitting how I would like it to, and it just starts to tear in places where the cuts were made. I was planning on sewing the edges immediately afterwards so that this wouldn't happen but never even got the chance to. Total junk.I use two other DEI products on my car, the Cool Tape and Titanium Wrap and I think both products work great. But this Cool Cover is utter junk and really disappointing. Unless your intake is arrow straight, no clamps or connections, and around 4 inches I'd say save your money and look elsewhere. Hope this helps someone else out there.

what a nice product - I wrapped my CAI tube, support bracket and sensor wiring with this. I had enough left over to cut up and wrap ECU wiring and a piggyback box. Nice look - like the inside of the space shuttles. I would advise that you also order at least a small roll of heatshield tape though - there's not enough tape supplied in the box but i was smart enough to get SS ties so it all worked out. Dealing with a 2.0L engine means lots of heat under the bonnet so now that I'm addressing how to lower bay temps I can say that this wrap works amazing. My first test drive me a 5hp improvement by keeping the air uninfluenced by engine heat. I now have more heat shielding material on the way to cover the throttle body now that I've completed a coolant line bypass.The fibers are not good for you and when the material is cut it's tiny metallic like fibers get airborne and seem to just hang around.If you have a CAI get this product, ss lock ties, extra heat shield tape and keep a small garbage bag close enough to discard gloves and mask. DO NOT MESS around cutting this stuff to size without at least a dustmask. You can copy and paste this link for a picture.[...]

Easy to install and works great, seems to be holding up well so far (installed 6 months ago). That's all I really have to say about that...but the bullies at amazon insist that your review must contain at least 20 words. Next time I probably just won't bother amazon, learn to respect what you can get...jeeze.

Every morning i drive in approximately 2 hours of stop and go traffic so i decided to give this product a try to help improve my IAT (Air Intake Temperature).After installing this product properly on my AEM cold air intake and running test with the new Honda s300v3 app for a week i noticed it took only 15 mins longer than usual for the intake to reach 59 degrees celsius which is the hottest temperature reading in the day time with the ac on.So i really don't think this is worth buying.......

Tight fitting on 4" pipe work, as designed, suggest that if pipe work has elbows intact, that the angles be shallow at this diameter. Professional finished product, Happy!

this is sewn together very very poorly. i'd advise a different solution for heat soak issues.
