## Description

In 1938, the German Army decided to develop an armored personnel carrier on the basis of the 3-ton half track (HL-KL-9p). Hanomag Hannoversch Machinenbau (AG) in Hannover was ordered to develop the running gear and Bussing-NAG in Berlin was to develop the superstructure to be armored. Design work was hastened on the model of existing armored cars and a prototype was completed at the end of 1938. The Germans tested the prototype in the Kumahsdorf Proving Ground and accepted it for mass production. Thus was born the Armored Personnel Carrier Hanomag Sdkfz 251/1 which, we may safely say, was a synonym for the German mechanized corps that showed activity in all battlefields throughout the war.

Review: A very decent model for beginners - First of all, this is not a toy. It is a 1:35 scale model. It requires a lot of patience and hardwork. Don't buy it, if you are looking for a toy, because it's not. Quality is very good and fits perfectly.
Review: Cheap plastic and Terrible Product - Don't get deceived by the product image. The actual toy is completely different from what is shown in the image. There are no compact army figures or the tank as shown. What you get is just a set of cheap plastic kit and you need to remove each part and assemble it together with glue. Even the body of the soldier is made available in five parts and you need to stick them together and in most cases, there will fall off or break as the child plays. It is ridiculous that Germany army engineering images are shown in the instructional manual and you end up getting frustrated. What you see is not what you get. Also not worth the price. Beware of this product. The seller is cheating us with the product image.

**Q: will the German 88mm flak gun attach to the back**
A: The SdKfz 251 has a tow pintle that the towed 88 mm FLAK gun can attach to.  The most common prime mover for a towed 88 was the SdKfz 7 half track.  Larger, more power, and carried more troops and cargo than the SdKfz 251.  Tamiya makes a very nice SdKfz 7 kit......

A: The Tamiya kit is an Sd.Kfz. 251/1 - Schützenpanzerwagen. Standard personnel carrier.

**Q: How many pieces in this kit, give/take the 5 figures?**
A: This is a classic Tamiya kit from 1973 and includes about 80 pieces including the two vinyl tracks. The four pages of instructions are clearly illustrated and easy to follow. Assembly is easy, so take your time and enjoy the effort.

**Q: Hi what is the length, width and height of the model?**
A: The SdKfz 251 is about 7 inches long, 2 3/8 inches wide, and about 2 inches high to the top of the hull.  The machine gun and shield add about another half inch to that.
