... a Neverflat ball prior to this one that was fine. This one came about 2lbs too low
I had purchased a Neverflat ball prior to this one that was fine. This one came about 2lbs too low. My son can't get a decent bounce to make the ball work. If you fill the ball, you void the warranty and it will leak like all other balls. I contacted Spalding "we are sorry to hear of the inflation issue. You would contact the retailer through which you purchased this item and request a free return." I figured it would have been easier just to have Spalding fix their problem, instead of shipping to the retailer who then ships me a new ball and returns the old one to Spalding. Not so.Well, this Amazon retailer (Sprint Whispers) won't pay for shipping back either, and UPS wants to charge me $25 (wow! The discounted rate for Amazon is probably $5). So, that won't be happening. I'll eat this one. Buyer beware.

Previous one was great; now they come flat to start with
We had one of these balls for about 3 years it was great. Never lost any air at that time. It bounced well and true. We never had to take the seal off the inflation hole because we never needed to fill it up. We used the ball outdoors on our driveway for all those years. (Once we did have to fill it up for the first time though, the ball was pretty much done. However, it was great for the years we had it.)For the past year, we have tried several of new balls from the same model and they have all arrived under inflated. The ball bounces only up 70% of the way, right out of the box. At first, we thought we just got one defective piece, so we sent it back and got a new one. Same problem. Then we thought it may be the batch Amazon got, but the same thing happened when we went to a local sports store and tried one there. We are moving on to a different ball now.

Wouldn't Buy Again
The grip is good for an outdoor ball. The ball would not be ideal for indoor play. Mine came with a slight scuff below the A in Spalding and appears to have been previously dripped. The downside to this ball is that the valve does stick out and that does affect primarily dribbling, especially if the ball lands on the valve as it will bounce back around 20% less than you'd expect (kind of like hitting a dead spot on the floor). Though it will rarely land directly on that spot, maybe once in a pickup game, but you'll notice it if you're doing any type of dribbling drills. Despite the valve sticking out (and I may have received one in which it is sticking out more than others) I did not notice the deformity affecting my shot. I'd stick with the regular ball, which is $5-10 less and functions better.

Worth the money
Go ahead and spend the few extra coins on this ball. We were buying a new ball almost monthly for my son prior to this purchase. He plays outside on asphalt daily in the Arizona heat. The other balls we purchased would go flat after a few weeks and would not stay inflated. This ball has been used in the same conditions since May and has not needed to be inflated once. It is a great quality basketball and will save money in the end.

Good product
We get these for our dog, she loves to chase it. Good exercise. And she can't destroy it right away. Eventually she does bite it and it does go flat. But if it was used as intended, basketball, it probably wouldn't go flat, as advertised - but I haven't actually tested it in that manner.

Game on
No one likes a flat ball! This baby gets more bounce than your dryer! Take a season off to get your mind right and come back with a little pep in your step when you take the court in your new J’s.

Nice quality at a nice price
Great basketball. The only small thing I wanted to mention is there is a cap that covers the inflation valve and sticks up just a little. But it doesn’t affect the playability. Ball feels great in my hands and the texture allows for a good release of the shot with great rotation.

Replacing The Previous One w/ Exact Model
The first one simply wore out after much use and never needing air. The NeverFlat technology is great.Looking forward to this second one lasting as long as the first, about 4+ years.
