Great Valve! Made in Israel and good quality...BUT...don't use it for pond pumps!
I rated it high because it really is great quality and does work. Just be sure and use it for irrigation or a system which has at minimum 4psi. I didn't realize how much pressure a single psi was. At first, this really seemed to be a valid valve for a pond pump application...but I'm really disappointed that it is not working at all for me. After hooking this up to some 1' pipe and testing it out the solenoid seems to be working fine but I can't seem to get enough pressure pushed through this in order for any more than a trickle of water to get through. So after I ran into this issue I started troubleshooting to find out what it could be. First, I allowed the controller to turn the solenoid "ON" as I blew into the pipe. I figured that I could at least create 4psi which is what the minimum rating is for this valve. I nearly passed out! There was great resistance (no throughput) before the solenoid was turned on. But even after it was turned on there was still almost nothing getting through. I then disassembled the complete valve to see if there was something blocking or not working. Everything looked good and I dried the valve assembly and put it all together. Perplexed, I realized that I must be missing something. The rated psi was 4-145...4psi as a minimum sounds like hardly anything. So in the end...I had to look up how much PSI a human can create by blowing in a tube(1" PVC)...about 2psi. I think I've purchased the wrong valve for a simple non-psi generating pump pond even thought it has a 1,000 gph rating. Hopefully, someone will not make the same mistake.

DO NOT BUY!!!
One won't turn on and the other won't turn off. We recommend you avoid these valves. We ordered them from Amazon because we needed the fast delivery to complete a job for a client. Installed the valves and could not make them work. Had to remove them and replace with Hunter valves (which we now recommend). Lost a lot of money on this job and probably lost a client because we relied on these valves. Note: these were received in boxes that appeared to have previously been opened and no instructions were included. If you happen to have these valves, the on/off lever needs to be in the middle position (pointing towards the outlet port) for the valve to work automatically. The red wire is negative and the black wire is positive (to open the valve).

Nice valve! DC solenoids for use with the hunter battery powered timer at a reasonable price. You may have to cycle/latch these one time on installitation. Use a 9v transistor battery and just touch the wires to it, you will hear it latch.

1 out of 3 failed to operate
I ordered three of these. I got the irrigation line installed up to and including the valves, but then suffered an injury which prevented me from continuing the installation (consisting of the putting in the irrigation lines from the valves to the garden and the drip irrigation system). Recovery coincided with vacation travel so took around 2 months after purchase that I was able to continue installation to the point I could test the valves. One fails to shut off even though the valve is in auto mode. Amazon set the deadline for returns at one month following the purchase. I do not think a 33% failure rate is good quality control which makes me wonder about durability of the ones that work initially.

Good, reliable valve.
Galcon products are consistently high-quality and reliable. All parts of this valve can be replaced when needed - no planned obsolescence here! Picture does not exactly represent product as shipped; the wire connector shown is different.

the valve is working fine with a Toro DDCWP-2-9V controller
Device comes with no documentation and I was unable to find anything online, even from the manufacturer's website. There are some levers on the valve that I wanted to learn about. Otherwise, the valve is working fine with a Toro DDCWP-2-9V controller. Note that these DC valves arrived in the "open" state which is different from the AC valves that are in the closed state until energized. May come in handy when you turn on your water and expect the valves to not emit any water while you connect the rest of your system.
