I Returned A Razor, But Not This One!
A week before I bought this razor, I received a Norelco razor as a giveaway. I decided to test them both and keep the one I liked. The results? I still have this Flyco, and the Norelco was re gifted. Let me tell you why I kept the Flyco.Design: The Flyco had a nice heft to it (but wasn't heavy) that made it feel sturdy, unlike other less-expensive items that go for the "lighter is better" angle. The look was sleek and attractive, and it LOOKED like it cost a bunch. The digital readout on the inside area of the handle is great, and tells you not only how many minutes you've used the razor that session, but also how much shaving time you have left on the charge. I charged the razor once when I unboxed it, and I haven't had to charge it again. AND, I still have over 50 minutes left on the initial charge. Is that B.S.? I won't know for another 50 minutes. But even if the charge died today, it still lasted longer than ANY razor I've used to-date.Performance: Ok, so during my first shave, I was a bit skeptical. I usually shave with a straight razor, and I get a close, smooth shave. But I've NEVER gotten a close, smooth shave with ANY electric razor, so I didn't expect to here. And I wasn't off the mark - that first shave left me wanting a bit more. Did I get a good shave, yes. But not great. However, as everyone knows, there is sometimes a "breaking in" period with electronics. That's exactly what happened here - each successive shave got better and better. Can I now say I get a great shave? Yes I can. Although I still use a straight razor as my main razor, I use the Flyco at least once a week, when I need a good shave on the run, or for travel. And the popup trimmer is a great little bonus. So is the handy travel pouch.Cleaning: It comes with a small brush to clean the inside of the razor heads, sure. But one of the best features of this razor is that you can use it wet or dry. That means you can also rinse it under water to clean it. It really couldn't be easier - I pop the top of the razor head, run it under warm water to clean it, then leave it open overnight to dry. Seriously, how much easier could it be?I won't bother to review the Norelco because I didn't purchase that one. Suffice it to say that it performed exactly as this Flyco in all areas. But where this Flyco edged out the big, bad competition was in price. If you're looking for a sturdy razor that gets big results and a nice shave - at half the cost - get this Flyco. As I said in the subject line, I got rid of one of the razors, but it wasn't the Flyco.

Great Customer Service, Affordable Price, Will Not Give a Clean Cut
I waited almost a month before writing this review hoping that I would warm up to the FLYCO Electric Razor... unfortunately, that didn't happen to the extent I hoped.Out of the box, I was blown away by how sleek, modern, and clean both the packaging for the razor was, as well as the appearance of the Razor itself. The design of the razor and the thoughtfulness that clearly went into the aesthetically pleasing packaging were both better than expected considering the relatively low price point. It comes with a great carrying case which worked well on my recent vacation, and keeps the Razor safe and protected when not in use. The razor itself is small and easy to hold onto. It's very comfortable in the hand, even after a long shave (which I have had quite a few of with this razor...)The battery life is amazing. In one month, after being my primary razor, I've only had to charge it once. And you know immediately when it's time for charge with the beautiful display on the base of the razor. It is easy, VERY EASY, too clean. I literally held it under the sink for about 2 seconds, used the included brush to wipe away lingering hairs, and was done. The whole process probably took 10 seconds and it was ready to go again. In addition, the sharp shaving trimmer (not sure quite what it's called) was very, very convenient for trimming and evening sideburns! Major plus! Now for the things I wasn't to happy with...1.) The beeping to unlock/lock/power on/off the razor is horribly obnoxious. I've messed around with the razor for a while and can't figure out a way to disable this feature, so I assume I'm stuck with the beeping on. It would easily wake up my family (and dog!) when I used the razor in the same room as anybody. There is no privacy when shaving anymore with this razor.2.) This was my first electric razor and first razor of this style, ever. Until now, I've been using a Gillette Fusion which provides an astonishingly painless clean cut. With the FLYCO, however, never was able to get the "Clean cut" I needed. Since I've never used a razor like this before, maybe that's a common expectancy to this style of shaving. I would always have to come in and clean up the remaining hair with my Gillette, which was obviously a painful waste of time.3.) Shaves felt inconsistent. Splotches of hair would somehow end up being "missed" by the razor. It would do a decent job around parts of my cheek/chin, but other areas it would flat-out miss. Not sure if I wasn't using it right?? But I've experimented various angles and levels of pressure to no avail. Again - I would always have to clean up with my Gillette.4.) Like any strait edge razor, I felt this one pulling at my hair enough to cause minor discomfort, irritation and pain. But that's to be expected. No points off here.Final Verdict: Considering this razor doesn't provide the clean-cut I desire, and because of the "inconsistent shaves" I noted in point 3 above, I will not be using the FLYCO on a consistent basis. However, the incredible levels of customer service provided by this company is enough for me to keep my rating at 4 stars. I will be keeping this razor as a last resort back-up, in the case I need a quick shave and run out of blades, if I need a "non-clean-cut cleanup" in the future, or if I need a quick sideburn trim in the future. But for now, it's out of my daily rotation.
