Kerstin Florian Correcting Refining Toner | Salicylic Acid & BHA Pore Refining Treatment (3.4 fl oz)

I can't help myself - I LOVE Kerstin Florian products. This is a skincare line that feels tailor made for my skin.I'm also a huge fan of toners. I always feel so much cleaner after using a toner. It gets all the yuckies left behind by my cleanser. A good toner also makes my skin feel hydrated again, especially after using a particularly stripping cleanser. This toner checks all my boxes and it just fells....good. it smells good too, a light pleasant scent that doesn't linger. I like the watery consistency, I like the scent, I like how clean and hydrated my skin feels after using it. And I like the way the rest of my products absorb after using this. This is one toner I would consider reordering and I find myself reaching for it over my tried and true favorites...I recommend.

Haven't used long enough to show a 'real' difference

Maybe this is a great toner, but to spend $46 for a little 3.4 ounce bottle of what is basically mostly water-based is just too much for me. I'd rather spend my money on a good serum or moisturizer.I put some in an airbrush mister thinking it would be easier to apply to my skin--I don't use makeup pads or sponges as I don't want to toss unnecessary things in the landfill. And to put some in the palms of my hands to press is wasting some of it.The mister did spread it across my face, but it irritated my eyes a lot even with my eyes closed, so that didn't work out as well as I hoped--I put on some glasses to protect my eyes and then cleansed the glasses. Seems a lot of work for something I don't think I really need but it did fine. It is a little sticky but absorbs fast.Does have an 'essential oil/spa-like' scent to it that didn't bother me as it seemed to disappear quickly.

I really wanted to give this toner a good try, but I couldn't stand to use it for more than 3 days because of the fragrance is so strong. Therefore, I never got to really see if the toner works. Fragrance is a totally unnecessary ingredient.

I have really enjoyed using this toner. I use it in the mornings, even before coffee, to get some exfoliation started so my skin can better benefit from the rest of my regimen later, and that seems to be working well for me. I pour a little bit onto a reusable bamboo pad and lightly dab that onto my face, concentrating on areas with thicker skin, more pronounced pores, and more congestion. There is a fragrance to this product that some might find off-putting, but I kind of like it. This is more of an American-style toner than a Korean one. It isn't meant to be layered, and it isn't moisturizing. It's a refining toner, and it has BHAs, salicylic acid, and phytic acid to exfoliate and brighten skin. And I feel like it does those things pretty well, but the price is high and the bottle is small, which is kind of a bummer. Even more of a bummer is that this product is not cruelty-free. It's weird because there is apparently a Kerstin Florian line of cosmetics that IS, but those same ethical standards don't seem to apply to their skincare line for some reason. It's frustrating because I was really enjoying this and a moisturizer from this brand recently...until I discovered that they weren't cruelty-free. And since I cannot recommend a product that has been tested on immobilized and defenseless cats and rabbits, I certainly can't recommend this one, and that is a real shame. I hope my experience with this product might help YOU make a more informed purchase. Happy shopping!
