IAMS Proactive Health Adult Dry Cat Food
The cat I rescued was probably abused, so I have - for four years now - allowed her to be who she is. Which includes being an anorexic eater. I have spent so much on cat food, cat toys and perches and houses, I could have bought her a car. The only thing she likes is yarn. She finds my yarn and carries into the other room, drops it meowing and I thank her very much and put it in the basket there. There are about four baskets filled to the top. Now she will bring me a yarn from that basket to the bed while I am crocheting this blanket. Sometimes I realize I need a yarn that is in the basket. I have to wait until she is asleep and can't see me, and I take the yarn back. She won't eat wet, so I have about 15 bags of Kibble I remove about two morsels from each bag, add a little bit of treats, and then check what she has left. Those are the bags that get donated. When I was looking for a cat, a daughter went with me. I saw Tazzy immediately and only had eyes for her. Even though she first jumped to the ceiling landing on the cat crates and then jumped to a shut window clawing it to get out, I wanted her. My daughter kept telling me - you have gone crazy . How are you going to take care of her. She was 8 months old. Well, she She is beautiful. The lightest green eyes and a tail that matches a lion's tail - well a baby lion. And I thought that she might not be adopted since she is so weird. Upon arrival she ran into the walk-in-closet where I kept the cat litter box. She used the box and then went under my clothes. I crawled on my stomach two times a day to feed her - under my clothes . A month later she walked out of the closet and since then she has ruled the roost. Her feedings were always traumatic. It took me about an hour to open each back that was still standing and put a couple of kibble in the dish. Each night, after a feeding, I would go through the kibble left and take that bag out for donation. Last week I saw the IAM Proactive somewhere on this site, and it was 3 1/2 pounds which was a plus and I hadn't bought hat yet, and figured this bag would be easier for me to take to the shelter I donate -to take the unused portion to the shelter. That night I was sitting on the bed, crocheting a blanket that is scheduled for a gift for Christmas. Tazzy was on the bed with ime, which is a new thing for her. I guess after four years she has figured out the bed is the softest place to be. IAM had not been opened yet, so decided I will see if she will take a bite. Now or never. I put a small portion on a paper dish and put it down in front of her. I was stunned. My mouth literally popped open in astonishment. She had eaten what I had put on the plate. in about five minutes. About five minutes later she started to meow and jumped off the bed because she wanted more. And then that evening for feed time I only gave her this, and one other she likes and a couple of treats. No more standing and measuring from each bag. After four years of begging her to eat just one, she has found herself. Four years later she has asked for more of this food than at any time during her four years. Not ony does she love it, she asks for it. And now a week later, she has taken for granted this food is her food to keep. And I am an IAM fan. And hope they never change the ingredients. Our family has a group text, and I immediately went onto that. Everyone knows how difficult Tazzy was, but now this is a new Tazzy. She loves being with me during the day. - and just that she is eating I was so elated. She is finally eating something that is nutritious, and she likes it. She really likes it. I love the smaller bags and am going on after this to place an order again, because I never want to run out of this. So if you have a cat that is a picky eater, do purchase this. If Tazzy could talk, she would endorse it. Or even if you don't have a picky cat, this is a great food. I like the ingredients. To her, this is like eating the best steak (if you are meat eater) ever. I am an IAM fan.

Good brand.
My cat is a fat (16-17lb) tuxedo cat. Now that you have that useless information, onto the food. He can be very picky when it comes to certain brands, and some he is allergic to. This one, however, he loves and begs for more even when his bowl is full. The only thing I would say is that he definitely isn't losing any weight, lol. But he doesn't seem to be gaining any, either. It has a slight smell to it but nothing terrible. Quality is good and he eats it so no problems there. A bit pricey for a 7lb bag in my humble opinion, but it's worth it.

Our Cats 🐈 Dig IAMS
We got this to feed 2 feral cats we adopted from the SPCA to save from a tragic end. They eat it all up. The 1yr old ferals dont get any irregular bowel movements or diarrhea from this product. On another note we also feed the senior cat we share with our neighbor in Florida IAMS senior and its his favorite dry food. We feel IAMS is of decent quality and a good valie for your dollar. When i worked at a Feed Store in Half Moon Bay in the early 90s IAMS was one of the foods we recommended along with Science Diet and NutroMax... i realize the pet food landscape has changed alot but IAMS is still a food animals like.

The cats love it. Who am I to argue?
When four of your cats range in age from 15 to 18 years old, and turn up their noses* at the (extremely) expensive prescription cat food the vet recommends, you get them the food they'll eat. When I opened this bag, my oldest cat was literally trying to climb inside it to get to it. He's old enough to get what he wants, and what he wants is this cat food. Works for me! *People who talk about "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink" should try sometime to feed cats stuff they refuse to recognize as food!

good food, terrible bag
My two cats are big fans of Iams — based on their enthusiastic feedback, which roughly translates to "meow, mow mow mow meeow," I’m guessing the taste is solid. They devour it like I forgot to feed them for a week (I didn’t). But here’s the gripe: the bag. There is no easy way to open it. Scissors? Nope. Utility knife? Still awkward. Precision engineering? Forget it. Every method I’ve tried either rips weird, sprays kibble like confetti, or leaves me with a jagged hole that’s impossible to pour from. I’ve resorted to dumping it into a separate container just to avoid daily rage. Food itself? Great. Cats are happy, healthy, shiny, and slightly less judgmental than usual. Just be prepared to wrestle the bag like it owes you money.

Great price and cat approved
The outdoor visiting cat approved it. The price was unbeatable compared to store bought and I also had a $4 off coupon, which really made it a bargain. My indoor cats eats another brand while I can afford it with better ingredients, but I consider this brand a great and more affordable alternative.
