Around double the price of felt but the felt only lasts 12 to 18 months, this wire mesh about 5 years. But the big advantage is when removing the felt it takes about 2 hours work, the last wire one took about 15 minutes. All the felt seals tout how simple it is to install, and it is, but lie by omission by not telling you how difficult it is to remove and clean. Also this wire mesh last so much longer than the felt so you need to remove and clean the top and bottom rim less often to install.

Arrived fairly quickly, considering delivery in Portuguese islands.The product quality is excellent. I installed in a 21” klarstein Kamado (chinese ones with several rebranding) and it fits perfectly, with some 15~20cm left after cut to fit.Installation is “simple”, as it bring sticker, but you must carefully treat the surface before to remove all the old glue, grease or dust.On my case, I scraped the old felt gasket and brushed with a steel brush. Then, cleaned it up with a sandpaper until the ceramic is completely clean. Blow off dust and clean with a wet cloth. Carefully installed after fully dry.Take your time to install it, stick it slowly by small sections (5cm/2in) at a time, so you can bend it without wrinkling the glue sticker.Ended up very nicely fitted and strongly glued.

If you own a KJ and have had it for a while, you've probably experienced gasket fault. I won't say failure, because it didn't exactly fail, but it did unadhere (is that a word?) from the cover. I've re-adhered the original gasket in the past using a high temp adhesive/sealant. That worked for a while, but I finally decided to break down and replace the gasket. KJ wants almost double the amount for a replacement gasket, so I decided to go with this on. So far it is working as expected. Be sure to thoroughly clean the mounting surface with a wire brush and some alcohol before applying. And I gave it 24 hours to set before starting a cook.

This gasket is a good replacement for the original one that came with my Big Green Egg.

Watched a few YouTube videos and went to work. I removed the old gasket, cleaned the rim with acetone and a light sanding before the gasket arrived. At first, I wasn't sure it would be enough gasket to complete the job. After measuring the lid and the provided gasket decided they knew exactly ho much I would need. I was very please how easy it was to apply and even had enough to do the smoke stack. My only gripe is it's thick, enough to cause my lid and base not to align. (basically a slight under bite). Not sure if i can make an adjustment to the Primo or if it will smash flatter at time goes by. You can see how much was left after completion. Good luck!

Buy the felt that replaces the seal . The new gasket works great !

I had about 8 inches extra.

Installed perfectly. Currently smoking a brisket and the seal is tight.

Just installed it today and so far great.I used it on my pellet stove on the ash pot.

Too short, not left even a bit of slack, adhesion is not brilliant either.

Replacement for My Big Joe series 2 which disintegrated after 7 years. This one feels very good quality and fitted easily once grill was clean and dry.

I fitted this onto my Kamado Big Joe, enough for both the rim of the lid and base. Thought there wouldn’t be enough but there was. I needed to use tin snips to cut it. Price point is high but good quality.
