It's about as simple and straightforward as you can get. It fits the bottom of a glass perfectly and does a great job muddling sugar and mint leaves, etc. I have an OXO muddler that I really like, but it has teeth on the bottom and doesn't do a great job muddling sugar. This one is just about perfect. Not super decorative, but just the job beautifully. And, it would be a great little club to carry with you for protection on a dark night. Mint oil is to be pressed out of leaves, not torn or grounded in a way that leaves a bitter chlorophyll taste.
