Pentel Arts Pocket Brush Refills, Black Ink, Pack of 6 (FP10BP6A)

I was skeptical about using a "brush pen" to apply ink to my pencil illustrations. I have mainly used precision technical pens in the past to do the job- because I like the consistent flow of a pen, versus having to constantly apply new ink to a brush. But, I had recently started using a brush to ink, because it allows for a much better range of lines that I can create with a single stroke (as opposed to changing to different size pens). With the Pentel Pocket Brush, however, it is the best of both worlds. I am able to get a fantastic range of lines- as thin as a .005 line from a technical pen, to the thickness of a 01 series sable brush. The ink is very good permanent ink also. It creates really rich blacks.

My #1 brush pen in the Pentel & the refills are mando, skip any other brands. These go in smoothly, the ink is stellar & almost glides across the various papers I use. The waterproof ink works perfect for my copics brush markers, watercolors & I use alongside of my copic multiliners for line work. Can fill a large area & make the smallest of lines, it all depends on user's experience level, practice is key! Have fun!

The pentel picket brush is one of my favorite things that I own. The quality of the ink is part of the reason I love the brush/pen. It is permanent, dries fast on most surfaces, and you can get it wet (say with watercolors) pretty much after it dries (so basically right away). If I had a gripe it would be that it does bleed a bit depending the the surface (and some surfaces more than others). But, that is the trade off for having an ink that flows through the pen and works they way it does with pretty much no maintenance. Love it.

I am in love with this brush. I bought it after my old one ran out (it was never any good anyway.) It's perfect, and is easy to control! I'd recommend this to anyone, beginners and professionals alike! As for those commenting that it has too much ink, leaves behind white spots, or doesn't cover well, I must disagree. YOU have to use the pen, the pen can't do everything itself; moving too fast can cause all the faults stated, and can be prevented by getting comfortable with it. I mean, you can't jump in the water if you don't know how to swim, right?

This review is for the refills. The pen is fabulous. I haven't used refills yet. I am so thrilled every time I pick up this pen, I wonder why I don't use it all the time! Great performance, reliable, easy to carry, no leaking. I can't say enough good things. Excellent value.

Great ink. Waterproof, and works well with Copics. They run out REALLY fast though. Please bottle this ink Pentel! PLEASE! You could sell converters too. Otherwise I'll probly start using a syringe to fill one of the cartridges with Sailor Nano or Platinum Carbon ink.

These fit like the ones that came with the pen. Ink flows well and it’s as black as it needs to be. Nothing to complain about. Extra: If only the the Pentel pocket brush pen came with a refillable cartridge or had refillable cartridge upgrade kit with a refillable cartridge and new barrel that accommodated the length of the refillable cartridge. I’ve come to just reuse these disposables by refilling the empty cartridge with a syringe, like many that have fell for the Pentel pocket brush pen started to do. Which is nice cause you can fill them with whatever ink you prefer as long as it will flow through the brush, like a nice waterproof ink. Some have just ditched the cartridge and filled the barrel with ink and sealed the pen in a few different ways like hot glue and small rubber bands. “Drippers”

These are the refills for one of my favorite inking tools, the Pentel Arts Pocket Brush pen. After having tried many other brush pens, the Pentel is without a doubt the best. It retains it's shape extremely well, the ink flows perfectly through the synthetic brush fibers, and it can go from super-fine to rich thick lines wit just the right amount of pressure. If you've only ever used micron pens or similar fine liners, I urge you to try inking your outlines with one of them, you will fall in love with the expressiveness of the line. When the pen runs out of in, you just pop another of these cartridges in and your good to go. It usually takes a few strokes before the ink gets flowing, but not too much. One cartridge lasts me quite a while and I really like how truly black the ink is and it is waterproof once dry. I highly recommend this and the pen.

Ho acquistato questo set per avere qualche utensile in più nel mio arsenale. Ad essere onesto lo sto usando molto poco, anche perché ho veramente troppi pennarelli con cui lavorare e ultimamente sto virando il mio lavoro sul digitale. Ma per le poche volte che li ho usati si sono dimostrati eccellenti.

Es la primera vez que compro a este proveedor los recambios para pincel de escritura, pero no será la última. Más barato que otras opciones de compra, me ha llegado en un plazo de tiempo inferior en dos semanas al anunciado (cierto que era de un mes, pero supuestamente lo envían de Japón). El producto en si es el oficial, por lo que no tengo quejas y no hay diferencias con otros que haya probado con anterioridad. En general muy satisfecho.

Does it's job well and it's worth getting this package so you don't run out on your ink too fast. I had two refills that came with the Pocket Brush and they lasted for quite some time. Lovely rich black color, not waterproof but doesn't bleed so much either, just make sure not to overdo it with the water and wait for it to dry a bit as well. This is a must have for every artist.

L'encre est d'excellente qualité , noire et opaque, durable. Je n'achète que cette marque. Je recommande vivement, surtout que ce produit est très onéreux en magasin.

Didn't realise these would come from the USA - seemed a bit of a waste for such a small item - but that was my fault for not reading the whole of the description before ordering. However, they arrived within a week - 10 days. and they are a good quality refill.
