Good Protection without Compromising Music
I purchased these about a year ago for live concerts since I like to be at the very front near the speakers. They proved their worth when I saw Zedd live and was at the very front near his bass stacks. The people around me were dropping like flies and leaving the floor throughout the show because I'm sure they were in physical pain. I had my DUBS in and enjoyed the entire set. I could still hear all the music and feel the bass but my hearing was protected. When I left the venue and took them out, I had next to no ringing in my ears after and felt like I did my part to protect my hearing. I'm sure there are ear plugs that are better than these but these are affordable for the amount of shows I go to per year ( 4-6). And less than half of them are up front. Protect your ears! :)

TLDR; They work well, but dumbo ear people should stay away
I bought them because I have a hard time focusing on my work when non-rhythmic environmental sounds constantly distract me (books being set down, distant socializing, etc). These earplugs do not kill the sounds, but dulls them. It makes it easier to drown sounds out when they all sound the same. As for their size, they fit very snugly in my ears. When I shop in-ear headphones, I usually wear the small or medium piece, as I have relatively tiny ears. These earplugs are made to be one-size-fits-all, but I can tell that anybody that has to wear large buds will not find this product suitable. So oversized ear people, stay away. Aside from that, it is a great and versatile product. Highly reccomend.

AMAZING for people with sensitive ears that want to get close to sets!
I loved these and they helped me get closer for concerts! I have very sensitive hearing, and my husband has destroyed his hearing through years of music festivals and concerts. He likes getting close to stages, while I can't stand it because the music is so loud I can't enjoy the concert. These were perfect!!! I wore them throughout Coachella, which has some pretty loud sets. I was able to go pretty close to the stages and was not bothered by the noise. One of my friends said a few sets were way too loud for her (without ear protection), but I didn't even notice the sets were extremely loud thanks to the DUBS. I have really small ears, and these fit me perfectly. They did not hurt my ears, and I wore them for hours. I could hear when people were trying to speak to me in the concerts. However, I couldn't hear if they tried to speak to me outside the concert when the DUBS were still in. So, if someone is yelling during a concert at you, you will be able to hear. But you can't hear someone speaking to you when they are speaking normally. The reason I put the DUBS as 4/5 stars rather than 5/5: I read in reviews that these sometimes mute the highs too much. I didn't think I would notice, but I did. When a singer had a high voice, it was difficult to hear him/her with the DUBS in. It was also difficult to hear sax and other wind instruments with the DUBS. I could hear them, but they were much quieter. It sometimes sounded as if the bass completely overpowered everything. With the DUBS out, the sounds were much more balanced. It was only an issue with certain types of music. For example, Miike Snow: the band uses uses heavy bass and wind instruments, and the singer has a high voice. Other than that, I LOVED these and will be wearing them to every concert! UPDATE: I have since worn these to dozens of concerts and one more Coachella. They are awesome and help so much to prevent ringing! I definitely enjoy shows more than the people I go with because I can go super close without damaging my ears!

Would have been five stars but...
I bought these for flying and had used them once on the flight, and was then using them on the return flight. They work as advertised, block sound but still allow you to hear, the only problem was, I took them out to use my headsets and put them in my pocket. When I went to use them again, one of the silicone ear inserts was gone rendering it useless. It had evidently fallen off when I took it out of my ear. Since I was on a plane it was impossible to find. I was not rought with them, and was fairly careful. The piece simply should not have fallen off like that. I thought perhaps I could just replace the silicone piece, but no, you can't do that. You have to buy the whole set again. So it was kind of pricey for basically a one time use.

DUBS Helps for Hypersensitive Hearing
Purchased for my son who has hypersensitive hearing. Fingers rubbing on a piece of paper, erasers being used, cloth fabric moving, a marker touching paper, are some sounds that hurt him. He reports that these DUBS are helping to reduce those sounds, but do not block them out. What sounded and felt like 30 nails scratching on a chalkboard now sounds and feels like 4. The DUBS are soft but a little big for his ears to stay in too long without starting to bother the inside. He only wears them in the classroom, while doing homework, or if we are at a loud place. Otherwise, I am thankful that his school band aid teacher recommended these and I would do the same for anyone who needs to block out sounds but still wants to be able to hear. I am going to order an extra pair for backup because without these, my son would suffer in school and in loud places.
