What a joy.
I love my coffee, especially the simplicity of espresso. I have various machines at home & I've even taken them into work to keep the flavours flowing. My new job is "regional" & it is not easy to lug a machine around various sites. I saw this & was intrigued. I wasn't convinced that it could work. The proof is in the brewing! How wrong I was. The design, the size, the mechanism & even the joy of it is sublime. After a few trial runs, I've got it fairly perfect. (There is always room for improvement in everything we do) To me, it's all about the strength of flavour & the crema. Obviously you need good beans to make good coffee & it does take an element of trial & error in the fineness of the grind, quantity you put in & how hard you tamper it. I've got it all to my taste, fairly quickly. I love it. It brings a smile to my face when I pull it out of my bag & a few inquisitive looks from others. I'm very glad I got the case too. All in all, I'm very impressed. A ground coffee holder/container & a thermal hot water flask of similar design wouldn't go amiss? I hold my coffee cup upto you, Wacaco. Cheers.

BEST gadget I've bought says this Food Editor
I'm a chef and Food Editor who is currently working from abroad in a remote place with NO fresh coffee. Can you even imagine?! The horror. I bought this after reading all the reviews and thank GOD I did or I would have died from caffeine starvation. This little gadget has been my daily wake up saviour and afternoon treat. It takes one or two go's to get the hang of it then BOSH! Ok, it's not as easy, fast and convenient as having a Nespresso pod machine or similar. But I'm telling you the coffee from this thing is better and tastes as good as any commercial coffee machine. AS GOOD. 100%. And this is coming from an utter coffee snob. It even has the 'crema' on top. I WISH I had bought the extra add-on part that allows you to make bigger portion sizes as this really does just serve up one small espresso shot. But if you know you are going away to some ungodly place without coffee, then get this. Plus, cool colour options too and the design is very pleasing. Gotta have a strong wrist action though so not one for the carpal tunnel sufferers 😉.

Don't put off buying this product any longer!
My order arrived this morning and already it has changed how I make my coffees. I was sceptical for months before buying this product as it was expensive, but I took the plunge and am so glad I did. To begin with, the Arctic Blue colour is beautiful and the product looks and feels like it is made of high quality. The contraption itself looks complicated to use, but I cannot stress enough its simplicity. The flavour is entirely dependent on the beans and/or capsules (if you buy the adapter) you use. I've used the same beans in my life for the last year now and can truthfully state that this gizmo produces a rich crema, and delivers a beautiful coffee at no expense. You will need to give the dispenser a good 6-12 pumps for a full dispense from hot water; I'm not the strongest of lads and can tell you its a gentle, easy demand for pumping. If you're thinking of buying this product, do it. Its the ultimate device for handheld coffee production inside and outdoors. I have full intention of carrying this beast to work and taking it camping, not to mention its repeated use in the kitchen anyway. Safe to say You, you will be pleasantly suprised by its performance, quality and utility.

Great espresso on the go
I love this product, it allows me to have a great espresso where i wouldn't be able to get one. work, hotel room, walking and everything in between. The positives: easy to use once you are used to it. makes great espresso, pod or ground. compact. hardy. nice features like cups and 'add on' kits the negatives: you can over tighten pods and this can lead to coffee break through. you can use to fine a ground tamped to tightly, this can also lead to coffee break through if possible you should preheat cup and water chamber to have a piping hot coffee the barista kit can take quite a toll on the pump (twice the coffee and twice the liquid) the pump has started to let a little air leak past the full clean can be annoying (but if you dont cause coffee break through this isnt an issue) there seems a lot of negatives but once you have a technique down then most of these are a moot point. it makes a great cup of coffee and there is nothing i would use instead to get my cup of espresso. infact i have become somewhat of a coffee snob and even find coffee shop espressos lacking these days. really recommend it!

Great for travelling
It's slightly fiddly when putting the ground coffee in but overall it's easy to use and when you've used finely ground coffee you get a good crema. I have made espressos and I guess it's not bad though unfortunately they're not too hot as when you transfer the hot water from the kettle then pump to get your espresso what comes out is already a little cool. However, I've been adding a little hot milk to my cup of espresso to make piccolo lattes and for that it's good. I probably wouldn't recommend it for camping unless you plan on making lattes or cappuccinos. For me, as I spend a lot of time going abroad and living outside of the UK, it's useful and it'll save me a fortune from buy coffee outside. Nice case, looks stylish and very nifty. Pricey but there you go.

Absolutely recommended
I am enthusiast of this purchase. The nanopresso delivers a fantastic espresso. It is dense enough and not watery at all, and with a nice crema of top. Use it with a good blend and the taste will be awesome as well. The item is rock solid, built to last a long time. It is easy to use and with practise you will become more skilled in preparing a delicious coffee in few seconds. The only downsides are that you need some strength on the pump and that it can be a little annoying to clean after you had your espresso. But the little discomfort is really worth considering the result. Also, since the coffee in powder is much cheaper than the capsules I used to use, I'm starting to save a lot of money. Absolutely recommended.

It makes a good espresso
I was under the impression that you could load it up and take it up a mountain and make a coffee. You still need to have a source of hot water. I thought you could pre fill it hot and it would keep 'thermos style' for a couple of hours while you went on a walk. No. You still need a source of hot water if you are in the wilds. I think I had slightly unrealistic expectations! Otherwise its a nice little gadget, quite easy to use and clean, I like it and am glad I bought it.

Works fine initially, but it rapidly becomes unusable
Unfortunately like some of the other people on here I've experienced problems with my Wacaco espresso maker. I took it on a long passage I was making on a yacht, and used it to make two or three double espressos a day for the first three or four weeks. Consequently it possibly got a lot more use in its early days than it otherwise might have done had I just been using it for weekend camping trips. I very carefully followed the cleaning instructions, but despite this the machine no longer makes drinkable coffee. The coffee it makes is full of grinds and frankly undrinkable. The problem seems to be with a seal around the filter. All rather unfortunate really, because it's definitely not cheap and at first the coffee it made was excellent. I'm glad to say though that Amazon's customer service has been first class.
