Truthfully I don't know what happened to my original tool. My Ring was toast and I needed to take it down to recharge it. I received the tool the next day and it worked like a charm! My Ring is now charged and back to monitoring the door. Thanks to this little tool.....If you've lost yours - this is a great replacement!
