Appears not to have any additives, it's just potassium chloride.
I don't know how to describe the flavor. It seems different from the regular salt we're all used to, but it is salty. I actually I purchased it to use in DIY electrolyte mix not as a salt substitute, but it does taste salty so if purchasing as a salt replacement might work well in food if you don't have potassium issues. I chose this Nu-Salt brand and it appeared to be just potassium chloride with no additives such as anti-caking agents. It comes in those sort of round cardboard type containers with the plastic top that rotates for sprinkling or pouring out of container and these are a smaller table top version, which is perfect for me as I won't be using it much. Some didn't seem to be able to find the potassium content, it's 656mg per 1/4 teaspoon or 1.25g which they say is 15% of the recommended daily value for adults. The container may not keep it from caking in humid weather. As with all things, use in moderation. UPDATE: At my last annual exam my systolic blood pressure was high. I had the thought it might be the sodium level in my food/drinks. I was talking electrolyte pills as I tended to cramp after heavier physical exercise. I decided to try Nu Salt in my foods. It has a bit of an after taste. I then tried it with some Himalayan salt and it was as a better combo though there still was a slight aftertaste. My blood pressure though is greatly improved cutting down on sodium so if you have that problem try the Nu Salt, but go easy on it because of the aftertaste or if you can try going without any kind of salt might be better. I made DIY electrolyte powder to control the sodium in it. So far so good, no cramping and my blood pressure remains good. Happy camper!

Real deal
On a salt restricted diet. Not a big salt user but I like to use it in cooking. What a surprise! Tastes like salt but is good for your blood pressure. Good for you! Love it! Love it!

Good salt alternative
Good for folks that have high blood pressure (talk to your doc of course). I switched over from salt and use this to add to food as well as cooking with it. IT does taste a little different than salt. If I was to venture a guess in to how it tastes different, I'd say it tastes juicier(?) than salt. Four stars since if it is anywhere near moisture it turns into a block. The Morton's brand does not.

The memory of salt
It doesn't taste like salt, but, at the same time, it doesn't not taste like salt. Very satisfying and I did not experience the metallic taste reported by others.

No Salt, salt.
Great Diabetic no salt, you can not sprinkle it directly on food, but can be used in cooking food, in the end food tastes salty but ia not.

Tastes bad, like something is burned, and like metal.
This was a mistake to purchase. I've tried it on 2 different cooked foods: -hamburger cooked normally in a large cast iron skillet, with a little olive oil. -sweet potatoes done as fries in a large cast iron skillet, with just a little olive oil. I cook these 2 items weekly, if not more, using coarse ground pepper, and either "normal" table salt with iodine, or pink Himalayan Salt. With this fake salt product, both foods are barely edible; as in, I'm forcing myself to eat what I just cooked, so as not to just throw it away. There's a slight, "Did someone burn the food?" taste, as well as a weird, "Does this taste like metal?" and then a kicker after taste that's something like a biting on the tongue of salt. I'm actually shocked at how bad this product is, and I can't imagine someone getting through even one small shaker of it, let alone this 3-pack, OR ever buying it again. I'd much prefer never using any salt, ever again, over using this even one more time. I'd give zero stars if that was an option

Best salt substitute
A salt substitute with potassium instead of sodium. The best salt substitute we have found. My husband has to use it. I can even cook with it for him and if makes his food taste better. I also use it for garlic bread at home, instead of regular salt. My whole family likes the garlic toast made with NuSalt.

Tastes great but not full
The salt is great, Taste is same as any other potassium chloride. I know this is sold by weight but only filling the containers about 40% is very deceiving.

Ten en cuenta que es un SUSTITUTO, por lo tanto el sabor es muy diferente. Te deja como una sensación a metal en la boca. Pero cuando no comes nada de sal por prescripción médica, pues es un alivio usarlo en cantidades muy pequeñas

Using this is a great option if you’re looking to increase your potassium intake. The taste is similar to salt but does not replace salt IMO. I like to use a bit of each on my food.

It's tastes a lot stronger than regular table salt but the difference is not huge whereas the positive effect on your health could be.

Nice and tasty replacement for salt. No need to use extra salt on foods with this replacement as it tastes great.

My favorite salt replacement product. Has a better taste than most with no aftertaste.
