This is a manual record cleaning machine (it is powered by hand) and offers a big step up in performance from using a spray/cloth. However, I don't think I could go as far as to say it will match the performance of a powered machine like a Moth or a Pro-Ject! The main reason is the powered machines have a vaccum, which sucks all of the dirt of the grooves, and unfortunately a manual machine can't replicate this. However, it depends on your budget - if you have a very large collection and are happy to spend £100s, then the Moth, Pro-Ject are excellent machines. If you want a low cost machine that delivers plenty of bang for your buck and gets you up and running quickly, then I don't think you will be disappointed with this machine. Kind regards, Anthony - SPINCARE Founder & Record Collector. **Q: Will the fluid not damage the label when it is left to dry?** A: Very little fluid remains on the record, I have never had fluid run onto the label while standing in the drying rack. **Q: Why are so many people complaining about the rubber seal getting damaged or wearing away quickly has this been fixed ?** A: I have had no problems. After using I remove rollers and pads cleaning both in warm water. The record cleaning solution tends to damage rubber so by rinsing and allowing to air dry,for me,this solved any problem. Replacement rollers are available if they become damaged **Q: Does the cleaning fluid contain alcohol** A: Yes it does. This enables it to dry quickly, rather than sitting on the rack for hours and potentially leaving moisture in your grooves, which can be trapped when resleeved, and cause mold growth. The machine is therefore not suitable for cleaning shellac / 78 records unfortunately! Please let us know if you have any further questions.
