Neat little workhorses at a low price
The media could not be loaded. I am making a DIY personal cooler for a fun project and for personal, portable, spot cooling while camping/fishing and in my Jeep that doesn't have ac. I'm on my second pump (not because the first one failed) because of how well they work. One major oversight other DIY guys make is using bilge pumps for circulating water through the exchanger. You don't need or want the water flowing that quickly. These pumps work perfect for this project. Slower flow than the bilge pumps but enough power to draw ice water up the tubes, through the heat exchanger, and back out with a solid stream. The pumps also have a smaller footprint leaving more room for more ice. Very happy and would definitely recommend them.

Make sure the pump is submerged when you turn the power on
...or it burns up -- instantly--and I mean instantly! I was going to use this on a small water feature in my yard and power it with a 10 watt 20 volt dc solar panel I had laying around. I needed a pump that would run on 12 - 24 volts as the panel output varies between 12 and 20 volts depending on the sunlight. This one was very inexpensive so I got it. I tested the pump with the panel, immersing the pump in a bucket of water. It worked fine, good flow and lift. When I finalized the wiring to include an inline switch and put it in the fountain I had inadvertently left the power switch on and before I could get the pump under water it made a high pitched squeal, put out a puff of smoke and that's all she wrote...bummer...I think the pump would have worked just fine for the application I had in mind. This is my bad but it would have been great if it came with it's own power switch.So..if you get this make darn sure the pump is completely underwater before you power it up!

Strong little pump.
I used this pump to make a condensing cooler air conditioner. Pump has plenty of power at 24volts, I actually slowed it down by stepping voltage down to 12 volts.Works great!

Works very well
I am using this to pump cleaning solution. The pump is holding up very well even when being subjected to such an aggressive chemical.

Did not last
Worked well just long enough to test it out. Then it quit, dead in the water. I disassembled it to make sure it was not fowled somehow. Nope, it simply failed after a very short-term trial period. I would not recommend this pump to anyone.
