So happy with this purchase! We started buying sponges from Tarpon Springs, FL a couple years ago and now can't use anything else. They are so soft and take way less soap to get a good lather. We won't be back to the area for a while, so I was really excited to find on Amazon. There was a slight smell after wetting, but I'm sure it will go away with use. Highly recommend this sponge.

This little sea sponge is amazing!! It's so soft, lathers up nicely and is easy to rinse out. It's smallish but perfect for me actually, my hands are small and I wouldn't want some huge sponge. No odd odor (I purchased a natural sea sponge with a handle from another seller for my husband and it smells terrible) and I like that I'm using something natural. We got rid of our shower poofs after reading how much bacteria they hold and washcloths didn't lather up nicely without using a ton of body wash (which seemed wasteful). A tiny bit of body wash and water and this does a great job. I will buy again as needed!

The natural bath sponges from the sea are fabulous to use in the bath or shower. They keep the soap in -they get real soapy. They’re easy to rinse out. And they’re ready for the next time you use. The sponge is very soft, but I was disappointed in the size. The sponge is egg-shaped. Although it barely made the promised 4 to 5 inch length, the other dimensions were only 3 inches and 3 1/2 inches making the sponge much smaller than I expected. I measured it while it was damp as that is the largest it will ever be.

I'll begin first with what everyone wants to know: Does it lather well? -It depends on how you use it. Is it soft? -Yes, you don't even feel it against your skin (at least I don't). Is it durable? -Yes, for the two weeks I've used it, it has held up pretty well. Is it big? -It's not large, but it's not small either. I think it's ideal. Each sponge I think has a similar, but different size. Was it worth the price? -I'm used to purchasing three dollar loofah sponges from Walmart, so not really. It's only worth the price for the environment lol. Anyways, if you're someone who's used to using the loofah sponges, you'll have to adapt to using the natural sponge. When I first used mine it didn't lather like I was used to, but after using it several times, I know how to make it lather well. Get it wet first, but not ultra-wet, then if you use body wash (like me) put one or two pumps on it and lather it in. Then get it slightly wet again and bathe with it. Repeat the same process after the lather begins to fade. Hopefully, this was a helpful review. It's a good product, but it certainly needs to be used a few times for getting used to.

My daughter loves these and says they last a long time. She has tried others and this is her favorite! It would a lovely addition to a bath gift basket!

After owning several synthetic sponges that break down or feel scratchy on my skin, I finally bought the real thing. This sponge did not disappoint. I use less soap and get tons of lather out of this sponge. It feels soft against my skin and fits in my hand perfectly. I plan to buy another one to use in my RV.

Okay...some people may find this review... icky.If you are the type of person who has three showers a day, stop reading NOW!! Some background...I live in an older home ( like 100 years old) and I don't have a shower, only a bathtub. This is fine for me- I prefer baths and if I had to choose would definately choose a tub!! It's an old iron clawfoot, and I love it! I usually have my baths at night. Here's the problem. In the winter my skin is EXTREMELY dry, and hot baths make the situation worse. So, every other day I will have what is often called a "sink bath" or " bucket bath " -MY favorite term for this practice is called "whore's bath". The idea is that you just wash the stinky bits (pits, groin, maybe feet) and leave the rest alone. It's also good for lazy people. I have been wanting a sponge like this for a while, because after getting it wet you can squirt or rub it with soap and it's all soft and squishy. I have found washcloths to be lacking in this area, as are those net things and just the soap itself, but this is perfect because it retains just enough water to make you feel clean. Sometimes I kneel in the tub and use it, sometimes just in front of the sink on a towel ( If you are old like me imagine the sponge/bathing scene in the movie Witness, only...not sexy...) Anyhoo, it has served its purpose perfectly, dries quickly, retains no odours, and has not fallen apart. I love it!!
