Perfect Fit in a Kenmore 790.30529800
I recently had my gas oven stop lighting. I could see the igniter glowing, but would never get any flame. I couldn't smell any gas, so I didn't think the oven was even flipping over the valve. At first, I thought it was an issue with the valve. But after doing some research online, several people suggested that even if you can see the igniter glowing, it might not be enough to light. In fact, some appliances will actually read the amount of voltage being pulled from the igniter to determine if it is working correctly or not before opening the gas valve. So I decided I'd try to fix it myself and took a gamble on $20, which is **way** cheaper than paying a technician $200-$300 to come out and fix it. Boy am I glad I did! It was honestly one of the easiest repairs I've ever done! Took me maybe 20 minutes to disassemble the oven, cut the connectors off of the old igniter and splice them with the new igniter using the included ceramic caps, and reassemble everything. Once I did, the oven fired right up, no problems! Now I can't yet speak to the longevity of this igniter. But I can say that I use the oven just about every day or every other day, and it continues to work perfectly.

Works great, easy to splice in using old connector
Installed easily. Shut off gas valve and turned off electric breaker. Unscrewed 2 screws inside at the back bottom to remove tray. Unscrewed 2 screws at ignitor, disconnected at current factory plastic connector and removed old igniter. Had to remove couple of other screws to remove heat plates around wiring. Cut wire about 2" from end of plastic connector end and spliced in new part. Reconnected and it turned on. Cleaned around and behind oven although it did not have to be pulled out to do this. My oven is a 25 year old kenmore, and it is the first time having a problem. Nothing to loose trying since a repair guy is 100 to come out and 100 to fix plus $80 part. New oven would be 700 to 800. I hope it works another couple of years until Im ready to buy a new one.

DIed with second use
Arrived quickly, the price was reasonable. The oven igniters die on gas ovens. We replaced three or 4 on the previous range in our old home. This one was the second for us - the range was in the house when we bought it 10 years ago. The previous igniter in this range lasted 4 years, to the month. I put this new one in one evening, and tested it. The oven came right up to temperature. Great! We're all set for another 3-4 years. My wife set the oven on for 350 to make lunch the next day. The oven came on and made it to 241F, and quit. Dead as can be. I pulled the igniter and found that the element had failed completely. Three years seems to be typical. This lasted less than a day. The picture shows the igniter after I removed it.

Perfect replacement part for oven
Original 1/23: Our oven is relatively new but was no longer heating up, this was a life saver. It came quick with my prime 2 day shipping, was much more affordable than from the manufacturer of the oven and fixed our issue! Update 1/2024: we were originally so happy that this part came quick and fixed our issue. Unfortunately within two months the same problem happened and the oven stopped working. I re-ordered this part and we were able to fix it. I was disappointed that it stopped working so quickly, but am very happy with the customer service from Amazon. They are refunding my money for buying a second replacement as long as I return the old faulty part. We are hoping this part will work for longer!

Still going strong after months of use
I installed this igniter back in January, and it’s been working flawlessly ever since. It was easy to install (with a quick YouTube search), and my oven fired up perfectly right after. No issues with fit or function, and it’s been reliable through regular cooking and baking. For a universal part, this one really delivered. I was honestly surprised by how solid it’s been, especially considering the price. If you need a gas range or oven igniter replacement, this is a great option.

Works perfectly for my NXR gas oven... though probably a short-term solution
If you take your time and snap pictures before and during the disassembling of the old parts, installing this is a relative breeze. However, I do not expect this part to last more than 6 months, as that seems to be the case with non-OEM parts for higher-end appliances. I bought this one because I could get it overnight, but also bought one from the OEM (for 4x more) that will take 6 days to arrive. I'll let this one go for as long as it lasts, then replace it with the OEM version if/when it dies.
