Is this loose powder that customers measure on their own? or is it powder in the dissolving packets?

It is loose powder. Each month I pour 10 ounces in a measuring cup and then dump it in the toilet. There are measuring lines on the inside of the box, as well.

No, Rid X won't cause any damage. I put it in monthly, but alot of people use the bigger amounts for longer periods of time.

I would use 1/2 in each since I think the septic tank is where it does the most work and both would empty there.

I’d suggest that you go to the company’s website and look for your answer there. My understanding is that it to be used in the toilet. You could always put the cover down once you put the RidX in- as you can’t use the toilet for a number of hours anyway
