Tricky to operate but a good addition to the Magic Pad
When I bought my new iMac, I was hesitant about getting the wireless keyboard as it has no 10-key numerical entry pad. I was double hesitant about getting the Magic Pad instead of the Magic Mouse. I am glad I did both and with the addition of the Magic Numpad, the Magic Pad is now the best possible accessory for my Mac! The tricky part is not an issue with the product but comes from a lack of documentation included with the device which is critical for both installation and operation. No problem with downloading the software. I like the idea of not wasting money on pre-packaged CD's that get used once and then hit the land fill. If I really want a backup, I can burn my own. Installing the Numpad was also not an issue - just follow the instructions, take your time, and it is right the first time. The issue in this case was the lack of operational instructions. After installing the Numpad and installing the proper software and setting the device up, I tried it out. Worked like a charm until I tried to exit the Numpad mode. The key on the device did not function AND the mouse function of the Magic Pad was disabled! It took several minutes of jockeying things around to get to point where I could exit Numpad mode and regain control of the Magic Pad mouse functionality! WHAT A PAIN!I contacted Mobee. They were very responsive but not that helpful. After searching their website, I found the owner's manual, downloaded it, read it, and, lo and behold, there was the answer! The key on the Numpad for exiting numpad mode had been disabled in the recent release and there was another way to exit - entry into the the numpad mode had not changed but exiting had.Now why didn't they say so when I wrote them? Why didn't include that little piece of information in the box so I could read it when installing the device? Curious. In any case, I am not blaming the product for poor support or lack of productization skills on the part of the Mobee marketing team. The device works as advertised! I really like the concept of interchanging the pads for use with different programs and I really, really like the fact that you can customize some of the pads for special features - like you own exiting key.I would recommend this to any Mac person using a Magic Pad. Why wouldn't you want this addition?! It is a necessity![...]

Good Product, Needs better support
I would rate this product higher, however, there are a few issues with Mobee. It appears there are some compatibility issues with El Capitain. Prior the Magic Numpad would auto start, now I have to go to the launch pad and launch the app every time I restart. Mobee's website is a wreck in some areas, especially in the FAQs and Support areas. Very difficult to gather information.

Looks can be deceiving
I was extremely impressed by the marketing campaign of this product. I was excited when I received it in the mail and couldn't wait to try it out. The box was very impressive; packaging was even more impressive. If these folks spent as much money on the software as they did on the packaging, maybe it would have been worth it Everything was neatly arranged in the box and included a nice pen to add your own touch key configuration. I downloaded the Software and installed it with no problems. I watched the video and with much anticipation tried the new device. NOT!!!!! I did not like it at all. I was not able to just "touch" my pad but rather I had to "tap" it in order for it to function correctly. I did not buy a touch pad to pich on the pad, I bought it to just touch it. I cannot configure the overlay to just touch it for the calculator function, I had to physically push it down in order for it to work. Needless to say I am not impressed. I am debating wether or not to paint it bright yellow and send it back to the manufacturer...but I figured I would spend more on materials and postage than it would to just throw it away. Well that's it...I would not recommend this device until the software is actually capable of performing a "touch" feature rather the a "tap" feature.

Works but takes some getting used to...
Made the jump to Mac as the result of a gift from my wife. Been and still am a PC user, now mostly at work, so getting used to Mac has been a challenge. Wanted num pad funcionality, but wanted a wireless solution without adding more peripherals. So the Mobee Majic Numpad seemed like the natural solution.Since I am getting used to the whole Mac experience still, I find it difficult to rate the Majic Numpad too critically, but here are a few things I've noticed:1. At first activating the numpad was a little difficult. Tapping the upper right corner of the track pad took more than a few double clicks in order to activate. Deactivating was much more responsive. Now, after having used it on and off for about a month, the touch sensitivity to activate has improved. It is more than my perception, but I couldn't say if it's a hardware or software result. Regardless, I'm pleased that it is now easier to activate, just wish I could explain why.2. In the track pad systems settings, "Tap to Click" needs to be unchecked for the Majic Numpad to work correctly. I prefer tap to click, but am getting used to using the hard click on the track pad. The Numpad works fine otherwise. So if you are having trouble with the Numpad recognizing your clicks, check your system settings. I suspect if "Tap to Click" is checked, some confusion is created in the software between the Numpad and the trackpad such that a clear deliniation is needed.3. The template was easy to apply onto the track pad. It is much like putting a screen protector on any other touch device (i.e., cell phone), only the templates are much stiffer so easier to apply. I opted to apply the "Num20" template since I wanted some of the same functionality as a Windows keyboard (End and Home keys). But I found the limitation in remaining real estate to drag on the track pad a bit much. So I decided to leave the template on but select Num10 in the preferences. That way I have approximately a third of the track pad for dragging and the rest for a numpad. I can always switch back temporarily if needed.4. Another reviewer noted that seeing the numbers and other symbols on the Numpad is difficult. There needs to be more contrast. I would tend to agree. There is no diffentiation between the "keys" on the Numpad and any of the surrounding surfaces, so checking finger placement is necessary from time to time, nut like a normal number pad on a Windows keyboard. Perhaps with time chekcing finger placement will reduce, but in the meantime, having a bit more contrast to see the numbers, etc., would be a bit more helpful.5. There seems to be little lag between the touching of a key and the corresponding symbol appearing on the screen. It's not 100% smooth, though. Since I'm still getting used to the whole set up, it is difficult to tell whether or not the overall responsiveness will be simillar to that of a wired number pad or a Windows full keyboard, ie., like touch typing. Again, probably something to get used to.Overall, my Majic Numpad experience is positive. While I've seen some non-Apple bluetooth full keyboards out there since my purchase, I'm content to have stuck with an all Apple set up (wireless keyboard and trackpad) which the Mobee Majic Numpad complimented well. It will all take getting used to for some time, but that is not Mobee's fault. Hence my rating of four stars, giving Mobee the benefit of the doubt.I recommend you give it a try.
