I feel strongly, that I from this book got the very basic knowledge about horses real nature and lifestyle. This was rather unknown to me beeing a european, only surrounded by domesticatet horses. It is my impression that horses all over the world are kept very unnatural, and most horsepeople havent even given it one thought. I feel greatfull that Jaime Jackson has studied the wild horses to learn from them, and that he has given us his knowledge in his books, so we have the chance to change our ways. After a 25 years breake, me and my doughter have got a couple of horses again, and we are going to use as much as possible from these books, to give our horses a better life - and tell others about it.

This book presents information on how to bring our domestic horses back to a natural, healthy lifestyle. Jaime (the author) takes vital information from the wild horses and uses this information to create better living conditions and practices for our horses. This book really shows how far we have brought the horse away from his natural ways, and it outlines how we can help our horses to become happier and healtier in simple, inexpensive ways. I've used this information and my horses are doing better than they've ever done. I have several of Jaimes other books also and all my horses are barefoot and completely sound and healthy.

I love this book. It answers a lot of the questions about the importance of hoof care and why we shoe our horses. He also raises the question about the negatives of shoeing. He has done extensive research and reveals amazing details about wild horses and how they keep healthy hooves without farriers. This book will make you rethink how you approach your horse's health care.

Great information in this book. Loved it!

The info really is good, just not very easy to read, so it does not keep my attention as long as a book that has a little more flow, easier to understand writing style etc.

The content of this book qualifies it to be part of my reference/research library on horsemanship. It is well written from a unique perspective unusual in horse books.

I had this book before and due to life stresses, had to leave it behind. This is about Jamie Jackson and his quest to find out why wild horses in United States have no Laminitis, Founder, Navicular...etc. (life threatening hoof problems)….until they are captured, confined and fed 'in the good life'. He has lots of photos and he leaves me wondering why are we studying the failures of our lame and dying domestic horses? Should we not be studying the successes of nature? This book will wet your appetite for more. It is a study of wild horses and their excellent hoof health. Both Jamie Jackson and Pete Ramey have other publications that offer documented successes for changes in how we maintain and treat our horses hooves.

Scritto da uno dei pionieri del barefoot (cavallo scalzo, senza i ferri che ammazzano il cavallo) si spiga come tenere un cavallo in salute secondo i metodi naturali e non come purtroppo tanti fanno come per esempio ferrare, (limita l'estensione del piede ) poco movimento in terreni non "accidentati" per il mantenimento di un piede forte e sano, alimentazione e comportamenti e di come ci si approccia al cavallo, capire le sue necessità, capire che le stalle sono un annientamento del cavallo per la sua salute attraverso il confronto del cavallo in natura e del cavallo "domestico" , di come muoversi per avere un cavallo in forma sano ed equilibrato.Se hai un cavallo e vuoi che stia bene segui questo libro e gli altri.
