Review: Does Exactly What I Needed for a Good Price - I've presently got about 450 DVDs/BluRays. That takes up a LOT of space. I was looking for something with a smaller footprint that would still give me a little room to grow. These seemed like a perfect solution. I bought four and I'll probably get a fifth soon to stash away for when the collection gets too big--but for now they all fit with about 2.5 shelves leftover. Putting them together went pretty smoothly and I did it by myself. If you've put together particleboard stuff in the past, it'll feel familiar. And yes. It's particleboard. That's cheap. That's why it's priced so affordably. Some reviews complain about the build-quality, but seem to be oblivious to how much more it would cost to use a more solid wood. You're getting what you pay for--or actually a little bit more, IMO. If you don't want particleboard, buy something else and pay a lot more. That's your only option. But if you don't plan on putting these things through the ringer and are working on a budget, they're perfect. The first one took me an hour to build. But by the time I was up to the fourth one, I was done in 20 minutes with no need for the instructions--once you've done one the process for the second one is obvious. In reading other comments I went ahead and used some wood glue in with the dowels--but honestly, I'm not sure it made much of a difference. The dowels are just there to solidify it a little--it's the screws that actually hold it together. If I have a criticism, it's that I wish there'd been a couple screws in place of some of the dowels to make putting it together a little less clunky...I had to reassemble more than one shelf that fell apart when I set it into place--but that's on me working too fast. Still I did rank "sturdiness" at 4 stars instead of 5 because they're not going to last for decades if you move them around a lot. But in general, these are GREAT. They hold a ton of stuff in a small area and are sturdy enough for my cats to walk on top of them. I like them a lot and would highly recommend them. Know what you're buying, for sure...it's particleboard...it's a cheap material and it might not survive a move across town. But now that you know that, if you're going to be staying put a while, BUY IT. It's a good value and saves a TON of space for the higher-volume collector.
Review: Attractive and functional - This item is just as it looks in the picture. So very pleased with this stand, and already recommended it others. Just the right size for me, and rotates easily. It fits my small collection of CDs, DVDs, Boxed CD and DVD sets, and fits neatly in a corner. Nice contrast with my light maple flooring, and a small flower vase on top makes it picture perfect. Assembling it by myself was tricky. First of all, the parts were very well packaged and labeled, and everything comes in a smaller than expected box. The screws were on a card with a hard clear plastic compartments, so I first counted all the screws, dowels, cam locks, shelves and rods, to make sure nothing was missing(84 parts/screws, no kidding!). My heart sank when I saw how many pieces there were, as I had never taken on such an ambitious assembly project. My work station was a glass top dining table, which was great because I could see the unit easily from all angles. After the first 2 shelves were connected with screws in place (I mean solidly in place), this took 2 hours, so I put it aside for that day. The rest turned out to be much easier. It was a little frustrating at first because I would be holding one part together, and another part would get loose. Finally it I thought of using adhesive glue to hold the little wood dowels in place BEFORE inserting the screws. Using the glue actually made the assembled unit very secure, so turned out to be a really good idea. When I lifted lifted the finished product off my dining table, everything was very solid and tight. Only movement was in the metal rods, but that's how it is designed ** Assembly tip: Be careful when assembling the 3rd shelf (labelled C). At first glance it looks the same on both sides, but the screw holes are slightly different. Look 2 steps ahead in the instruction booklet, and you will know the right side to connect it to second shelf** If you place shelf C facing the wrong direction, you will think the unit is missing drilled holes. Not true. Flip it around and the holes are there. The unit is made of composite wood, so try to avoid loosen and redoing screws or the holes will get too big. Same is true when assembling the rotating base. Test it first with a heavy book. If it does not rotate easily, something may need to be flipped or adjusted. The unit is heavy when fully loaded with CDs and DVDs, so it makes sense to do the assemble properly before loading it up. Enjoy!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A nice DVD Stand but take your time assembling this it.
*by T***E on August 19, 2018*

This is a nice item. It holds 144 DVDs/168 Blu-rays and, if assembled correctly, it appears pretty solid. The swivel base appears to be very smooth. The piece is very attractive and does not look cheap. That said, here are a few suggestions: 1. Do not plan on putting this together quickly - Give it some time. The directions are correct but there are a lot of pieces and it can appear a bit overwhelming. 2. When assembling this, I listened to a prior review and used wood glue for joining every dowel. Additionally, I ran a bead of wood glue between all joining wood surfaces. The reason is, this is stand is made of particle board and, over time, it would probably get wobbly and fall apart. After I used the glue, I weighted the parts down and let them set. It feels very solid now. 3. You will most likely have to drill 2 small holes for a couple of screws. So, don't be surprised when you come to that part. 4. When you set this up, it really should be on a flat, level surface or else gravity will not be your friend. I made a stand that I shimmed to be level and set the base of the unit on a 12" x 12" tile and it is steady and should last a long time. I am happy with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone needing a way to store and display DVDs.
