Great reef lighting for LPS, soft corals, zoos, and leather corals
I've had this reef light (the Marine 3.0, 48 inch, 59 watt version) for a few weeks now. Here are the pros and cons...1. Great ability to control the light via the Fluval app. I've used the manual setting to photo-acclimate new corals, and the auto setting is great for set it and forget it daily lighting.2. The light is much heavier in the blue spectrum than most LED strip lights, and that makes for an attractive appearance for fish and corals. Most strip lights are very yellow. Not this one.3. This lighting system is powerful enough to keep LPS corals (I have a bubble coral, hammer coral, and elegance coral that are all doing well), a Derasa clam, bubble tip anemones, mushrooms, and leather corals, etc.4. If you're looking to keep SPS corals or light-loving clams (Croceas and Maximas) this is not the light for you. It just doesn't put out enough PAR. You'll need a much more expensive EcoTech Radion, etc.Overall very pleased with the purchase. Good value and performance.

Great light
It’s a great light. Maybe not as technologically as other could be but does its jobs really well.

Bright, super-easy setup.
So, I had a bank of fluorescent lights for my 75 gallon fish/invert tank that were ready for retirement. They were hard to get the timers set right (built in, at the back of the housing), the fans were loud, and the bulbs fading and in need of replacement. For not much more than I would've paid for good replacement bulbs, I got this Fluval LED strip. I couldn't be happier. Out of the box, plug the power box into the light cord at one end and my power strip at the other, press the ON button, everything works. Dowloaded the control software (took less than a minute with the QR code in the directions paperwork), and connect via Bluetooth - often a hassle, but it linked right up. Sure, I could play with the lighting system in the app all I want, but the default gradual on/off cycle is perfect for me, so I left it. The lights are as bright as the old fluorescent lights when new, super compact, and now I don't have to reset timers when the power goes out. I'm going to get another (smaller) set for my office 37 gallon tank.

A great entry level reef light with quality in mind
This slimline light fixture is relatively easy to use, and quite bright over my 90gallon reef. This is the first light fixture I’ve purchased, and the programming did take me a few minutes to figure out; but it looks great on my tank. The 24 hour loop cycle is amazing- I don’t have to worry about turning it on and off ever. I’m new to coral, but have noticed some growth in the medium to lower light species, the higher light species like montipora aren’t growing, but are happy. The extendable legs work perfectly, just slide them out to the ends of the tank, set them in, and then center your light. When cleaning the tank- the light is very lightweight and easy to remove/replace, it has a very long power cord as well!

Great for FOWL or LSP tanks
I bought this specific set of marine lights since I have the Fluval Aquasky for my freshwater tank and love it. If you're familiar with the Aquasky at all, this bad boy works the same way. I love how I can keep my butt parked on the couch and control the lights from my phone via Bluetooth. These have a nice sleek design that have a high rating for water resistance meaning that if you were to pretty much drop these in the tank you're still gonna be good and they're still gonna work when you pull them back out. (I don't recommend doing this though 😉.) This does come with a couple of preset options for those with FOWLR tanks, but it now has a Pro mode for those that want more control. The Pro mode allows up to 6 different times to be set. You will notice that with the white lights on this, it does give off quite a bit of heat off the top, but I personally was aware of this before purchase and it's completely normal. The only con I can come up with is that I wish the whites actually went even brighter. I have a 75 gallon tank with these and the light doesn't quite penetrate as well I would like at the bottom of the tank. I have heard of some getting two of these lights or one of the Marine and Aquasky and putting them on and working great. I haven't tried it, but it's still a way cheaper option that some other lights out there. Just be mindful of what you have in your tank and it's needs. These probably won't be the best for SPS, but be fine for a FOWLR and LSP tanks.

Gets lots of hate but works for my anemones so..
Ill never buy another light system unless fluval comes out with an updated version of this one honestly. Works great app is easy to use. I have two on my 40 breeder tank and nursed a bleached and dying anemone from my local fish store back to health. Their combined par value was plenty even without using the white lights. I have white to max out at midday at 10% Gets lots of hate on the forums. No point in buying expensive lights just to turn them down to 50 percent because they are too bright lol. recommend two if going reef. Just put the higher demanding corals higher up on the rockwork. 5 to 6 inchs from the surface is probably your peak light level.

GOOD PRODUCT - NOT FOR CORALS
Good quality product. Easy to program and custom adjust and program with a phone app. Good for fish and invertebrates. Not enough par power and insufficient spectrum for corals.

Great light, awesome functions!
This is the second time I bought the same light. I have one on my 65 reef tank as well. This one is for a 40 gallon breeder seahorse tank that I am setting up. The programmable function works with your phone and it works beautifully. You have three different options for chart programming, just depending on how you want to do it and how much control you want. My corals in my 65 gallon tank are growing nicely underneath us so it definitely provides enough light for softies although I would not say that it would work for SPS.
