Our pup, Cady, developed chronic skin irritation in a couple of spots and despite several trips to the vet and even a recommendation for “doggie prozac,” I was pretty sure we were all missing something. Over time the spots would grow larger and eventually almost bare due to Cady’s constant scratching and licking of the affected areas. After doing some serious research on canine skin conditions, I was pretty sure we were looking at an allergic skin condition combined with a bacterial skin infection from Cady’s constant attention to the affected spots. (Not knocking the vet, the chronic canine skin irritation is notoriously hard to diagnose). We worked up to a routine of two of the soft chews daily and things began to improve almost immediately. Cady had no issues with stomach upset or similar, but be sure to follow the directions on the bottle for starting your pet on a new supplement. We also purchased PetHonesty’s Chlorhexidine Shampoo to treat the bacterial aspect. These two products together were the knockout punch, and the skin health chews have kept Cady’s skin healthy - her coat has grown back in the previously irritated areas, there’s no more incessant scratching, and Cady’s back to her sweet self now that she’s no longer miserable from the constant itching. This is a great product and I’m about to order more. If your dog has skin issues, do yourself and your pup a favor and give these a try.

I’m using this as a supplement for our four dogs to help reduce the seasonal scratching they tend to do. I’ve only used it for about a month so far. At this point I have 2 that aren’t scratching, 1 that scratches some, and 1 that is still chewing and scratching to the point of distraction. (She has a vet appt for next week.) We’re doing to stick with this, at least for a few months, to give it a chance to really work. I do feel better knowing the extra nutrients are in their diets, with or without the scratching. July 2021 I have now used this product consistently since my original purchase. The extra itchy dog needed a prescription of Apoquel to conquer her allergies, but all 4 dogs have shown a marked improvement in their skin and fur health - soft, shiny fur with a great deal less shedding and ZERO scratching and chewing. They also get the probiotics vitamin blend from this same manufacturer. Now if I could only get the cats in line…

I have a full bread German shepherd and he has an extremely sensitive stomach and skin. I decided to give him these with his food every day, because after 12+ months of trying to diagnose and treat his issues with itchy flakey skin, foul smelling odor and hair loss, nothing else seemed to be working. I've been giving these chews to my dog for the past several weeks and he appears to be getting better. His hair is slowly growing back and he's starting to gain weight again. He also seems to like the taste. He always eats both chews every day. He seems to be more comfortable and happier. I'd like to think these are what's helping because I kept his food and medications the same. Nothing else has changed. The reason for 4 stars is because of the price. They are expensive I'll update this post if anything else changes.

My dog does not like the product

My dog has shown definite improvement. She is a 14 year old Jack Russel who has spend the last few months sleeping and itching. She literally was not coming out of her bed for anything but food and to go out to do her business. Since feeding this SkinHealth supplement, she has started coming out to see what is going on and actually had some interest in playing again! While the itching has not stopped (yet), it has dramatically decreased. I can truly say her quality of life has improved. I'm very happy to have found this product! Coming back to add that after a few more weeks, the itching has nearly stopped completely. She was on the MAXIMUM dose of Apoquel and getting doses of OTC allergy pills multiple times a day. Nothing was working. Its been over a month now and I have completely cut out the OTC allergy pills and am reducing the Apoquel. I am really hopeful to end the Apoquel completely. I am so pleasantly shocked. WOW! Fantastic product! My dog was miserable and now she is comfortable. If you have a dog with horrible allergies or itch problems, TRY THIS PRODUCT!!!

my dog sniffed it and refused to take it. a real waste of money

I read all the reviews as I searched for something to help my Shih Tzu, who suffers from chronic skin and ear problems. I could no longer afford the huge vet bills and more importantly, he was suffering and I wanted to see if natural products could relieve his discomfort. It's only been a week BUT his skin scratching and licking stopped, his skin is not red or even pink but normal. He eats it with his dinner so the taste and smell must agree with him. I can relate to all the others who struggled to find something to help, I do believe this is it for us! I also use some coconut oil (Vitamin Shop) version in his food and on his skin as needed. Thanks for making this product. I will check back in a few weeks.

Bandit was having a very difficult time with his skin; constantly itchy, shedding like crazy, his fur felt like course wires, and on top of all of that, he had dandruff. We were giving him extra strength vet prescribed antihistamines, and testing him for everything we could think of. Bandit is a Border-Collie/Australian Shepherd mix, so excessive shedding was a nightmare for his parents. So finding this miracle drug has been truly a God send, and I am not exaggerating at all. My boys fur is soooo soft, so smooth, he isn't itching like crazy anymore, the dandruff is gone and the excessive shedding has ceased!! Not to mention, Bandit loves the treats and looks forward to them every morning. I couldn't be more thankful for this amazing product.
