High quality, great features, low price..
First off...I'm not a professional but I do like quality products, especially well priced one's. This Beringer rocks. The tactile response from the faders is something to get used to...but remember, their optical. No windings to become oxidized or corroded in my humid climate. Another big feature that isn't readily decernable in their ads is that the 2 inputs (two for each channel) are not only switchable on the front panel but include the capability to switch the phono input to a standard RCA input for other equipment...thus giving you the option of plugging up to 8 separate piece's of equipment into the inputs. The phono input is switchable from a phono impedance to a standard RCA rated impedance via a button next to the jack on the back panel. Add the sequencer/sampler, the FX section times two, two mic inputs, and a bunch of features that you have to pay three to four times more for from other manufacturers and you've sold me. The front panel is setup very intuitively and a fast browse through the manual was all I needed to make it all go...what can I say? I really like this unit and think it's an absolute steal... I forgot to mention that I don't DJ and my primary use is as a home studio mixer. I have friends standing in line for my mix's and this is just going to make it better. Good luck all and happy mixing..Oh, and PS> I bought this on Amazon from Sam Ash. It was shipped and I received it in just 3 or 4 days on their free shipping. Koodoo's for Sam Ash and Amazon.

Tons of abilities at a friendly price.
For a vinyl DJ this is a great mixer. It took a couple weeks to test all its capabilities and it’s performance during. My only minor dislike is the headphone cue locations being too close to the channel volume fader. I also use a rarely found Gemini CD-2000x cd mixer as well So I get a extra 5 cue points and 2 continuous loops per side from that.

Great Mixer, Great Price
This mixer is everything that is described !! I reAally read up on this mixer before I baught it . I found that the mixer lived up to everything that was decribed.. The mixer has a ton of functions , sounds great , and really feels great as well!! I was sceptical because the mixer offeed so much for the money ,, in the end I am very pleased ! The mixer sounds great! As a really huge suprise , the mixer is built well , it does not feel like a cheap mixer !! I am taken back that I got so much for the money and VERY VERY pleased with that!!!! I had read and also saw complaints on line about the "BBRIGHT BLUE LIGHTS " Which my does not have ,I HAVE GREEN LIGHTS , AND THERE NOT THAT BRIGHT.... Also People had said that ther was no "ZERO POINT" in the EQ KNOBS IN THE MIDDLE", I dont know if this is the newer model or what ... So Far So Good .. VERY PLEASED !!!!!!!!!! WOULD RECOMMEND THIS MIXER .

Don't Let the Name Fool You! Behringer Finally Gets it Right!
After over a year of researching and trying out mixers, I found the DDM4000 to be the best-in-class overall. FOR THE MONEY. It may not be a Pioneer or Rane, etc, It does most anything you would ever need in your home studio. I wouldn't install this in a nightclub, but it is perfect for recording demos and practicing for your gigs. I have spun professionally for over 15 years, and have worked on the best of the best. I was tempted to put a piece of electrical tape over the "Behringer" name just to fool some friends. The sound quality is quite good, and the response is spot-on. There are so many features packed into this mixer, that I am still discovering new combinations. If you have tried other Behringer products- FORGET THEM. This mixer is a well-kept secret. I remember Behringer stuff always feeling "cheaply made" to the touch. Although the trigger buttons are a little "clicky" and not built for punishment, the dials and faders are solid and will please with their quality. Some of my Comrades scoffed at my purchase, but after a few hours of mixing, they were impressed. I do wonder about the placement of the headphone jack, and the knobs underneath it, which should have been switched before production. If Behringer used actual DJ'S for product testing, then they would have fixed this right from the start. Oh well, they lose 1/2 star for this alone. I use a pre-amp for my mic, so that function is a non issue for me. I had been using Pioneer DJM 600 from the early 2000's until it died. This mixer sounds as well, and feels like the DJM-600 never left. Another 1/2 star is taken away from the somewhat complicated menu for effects, presets, user profiles, and generally too many buttons and options crammed into a small space. But, having said that I am only complaining about some design issues and not the multitude of settings and options available to those who take the time to learn them. Some simplification is needed in this area similar to Pioneer and other Mixers on the market. I gladly give this mixer the 4 stars, and look forward to trying new things with this choice piece of economy equipment. Again, nothing to brag about, but certainly a mixer to let you judge by the performance. A great buy and would spend $500 after using it, of course the Behringer name might of scared me away had I not done many months of homework beforehand. Go ahead, CONFIRM your order, I know you will be pleased.

Amazing for the price
As a lot of people, i didnt believe at 100% in behringer products (speaking about the quality) but this mixer is amazing for the price. Powerfull cutoff freq filters Good Faders The out signal are ok Good sampler, and the effects are fine The only thing that is not as good as other top brand mixers are the knobs, the knobs are medium quality (feel like plastic knobs, but i hope they are going to be resistant to me hehe) and the buttons, pure plastic, but really, for the price i recommend you to buy this thing In few words, i think they spend all the budget in the inside features, but the knobs and buttons are medium quality

Piece of s@&!
This mixer weighs about 2 pounds regardless of what the actual weight says on the box. My DDM 4000 was broke when I opened the box. I could hear parts rattling around when I picked it up. The DDM4000 is a cheap knock off of the pioneer DJM800 because of the midi connection and the similar features. The quality is absolutely horrible and I would not recumbent this mixer to anyone weather an beginner or pro dj. This is by far the worst dj product that I have ever bought. This product is straight weak and we should ship all of these mixers back to Germany and cut their products off until they can create a product with at least the quality of a numark product. Do not buy this mixer. Own 7 mixers from all different brands and I love them all. I know features and I know quality. It is very rare that a company will create a product that has both and this mixer is a perfect example of that. Get a Rane, pioneer, or high end Numark. Save your money with this crap.

nice mixer. lots of features. But confusing, overcomplicated layout, and small ring comes through my speakers
It's a good mixer, If I had to go back though, I wouldn't buy it again. The FX are great, especially since you can apply them to two different channels, however there not as deep and rich as my old Newmark dxm09. They just sounded better on the old mixer. Nice to have 4 channels though, so I can slap on extra hardware or plug a friend in. Loop bank is interesting and I will have to play with it more. Sound quality okay. layout is a little crazy and everything has a button, and I mean everything! So great if you like options, but this is too many if you ask me and I think it could have been simplified. Otherwise a nice dependable mixer. I have had it for a few months now and will keep you posted. No problems thus far other than a faint high itch coming from my speakers when no music is playing. Will have to look into this and see if it is a result of the mixer or other hardware, but seems to come from the line output from the mixer.

No Comparison at this price
I bought this in Oct 2009 and have been using it since then as the main mixer with my Dj setup. Though I am not a pro dj but I play for nothing less than 8-10 hrs every week. The mixer is great and nothing has gone wrong with it so far in last two years. I have seen it being constantly compared to Pioneer mixers which is not right. It is responsive , beat counters work well, the faders are great, some effects are not that useful (also effect response is not that great that). Finally for the price it is great.
