I read several of the negative and positive reviews on these mittens and decided to give them a try. They are exactly as described on Amazon. They are heavy (1.5 pounds as described). I put them on my hands and settle in to watch TV and I find the weight comforting. I wouldn't want to try moving my arms around with the mittens on (unless I was at the gym working biceps - smile). I don't find the weight a negative characteristic but understand if some do. I also read that they have a strong odor that bothered some. My pair have almost no smell. I have had them for about a week so I will let you know if that changes in the future. The mittens are plenty big for my hands and cover my wrists and lower arms for full coverage (see photos). For me, these mittens are very helpful. The warmth soothes the arthritis pain in my wrists and fingers. It lasts for about 15-20 minutes if I put my hands with the mittens under a blanket on my lap or wrap them in towels. Please be aware these are considered a medical device and are not returnable. Thank goodness. I wouldn't want to put my hands in used mittens. My advice is to read the description carefully and decide for yourself. I am happy with my purchase and can recommend them.

I bought a pair 6 years ago, and wore them out. My lovely husband heats them up at 530 am and slips them on my arthritic hands before I wake up. Best hour of the day! The mitts add weight and thermal relief for painful stiff hands.

Great for ten minutes of cooking down the hands. Looses coolness quickly. Comfortable. I'm a massage practitioner and this is a good way to rest the hands after a double shift. Great tool for maintaining longevity.Probably better products out there but this does the job for me. It's not so cold that it's uncomfortable but it does get warm quickly compared to gels.

Love these! I have the beginnings of arthritis in both hands but especially bad in my right hand. I bought a hot wax dip for myself and then bought these to put over the plastic bag on my hand after I dip in hot wax. BUT these mitts are so nice and toasty that I can use them to help the pain and help to stem the arthritis from getting worse without the hot wax dip! Fantastic investment! I keep them in the freezer covered in plastic bags so they are ready to pop into the microwave when needed. I have not used them "cold" yet and may never need to but keeping them in the freezer helps them heat up a bit better and hotter because of the moisture factor. Good quality and worth the money.

Love theseLike: have arthritis & multiple joints that trigger - these give heat with a bit of moisture that really helps especially prior to doing physical therapy exercises. Big enough to even slip over my feet when they are hurting. Covers my wrists to help there also. Easy to pop into the microwave & warm up. Don’t risk ruining or exploding like many heating products.Dislike: has a bit of a grainy smell that triggers some allergies but not enough to keep me from using them as they are so effective. A bit pricey - looks like something that would be easy to sew up on your own - but then, people will pay for something that works & comparable in price to more elaborate medical devices that aren’t as effective.

Got these for my mom who is suffering from arthritis in her hands. Most mornings, she wakes up with stiff and sore joints and it takes her about an hour to two get going and have her hands work right. I hated seeing my mom like this so I scoured Amazon for something that would help. She's on meds, has creams, and we tried regular hot and cold ice packs but they're difficult to place right and any movement jostles them out of place. Enter these mittens! The relief was almost immediate. They're super easy to freeze and heat (and we have a smallish microwave) and they maintain the cold or heat for a long while - we haven't time it but I carry them back to their storage area in the bathroom and they still feel cool (or warm, depending) after several hours. My mom uses them at night before bed and during the day and she now wakes up with full immediate use of her fingers. She's happy and so am I!

These mittens are finely crafted and comfortable, but I can only give them three stars because they lose their heat after 8 - 10 minutes. After that, they're just slightly warm for another ten minutes or so. Perhaps it was naive of me, but I thought that since they cost nearly $40 that they would keep their heat for much longer than that. I'll still use them, but I'm disappointed that I'll have to reheat them every ten minutes.

Highly recommend this product. I have osteoarthritis in my hands. My doctor had suggested hot wax treatments for the moist heat. I ordered these mitts instead. They are wonderful delivering the moist heat without all the fuss - setting up equipment, melting wax, having to replace wax, unable to do anything with my hands (like scratch an itch, catch a sneeze, answer a phone call) while in the wax. The simplicity of use plus being able to remove a hand when needed is wonderful. The moist heat is so very soothing to aching finger joints. I would definitely order the product again if I needed to.
