Great at enhancing body awareness and for helping to maintain cranky bodies.
Early on in our lives together, my wife (now 65) and I (now 66) saw the wisdom of diligently maintaining our car. For the past couple decades now we’ve been applying that same wisdom to our increasingly cranky flesh and blood bodies. It was in this fine “tradition”, that we purchased this air compression leg massager. Summary — Good stuff: After several weeks of use and testing, I can say we are both very satisfied customers. As I will now describe in greater detail, this is a very relaxing, useful and em-bodying tool we’ve now added to our wellness tool bag. What it Does: It works by inflating air into the massager’s leg sleeves, gripping and releasing the parts of the leg, in the same way a blood pressure sleeve inflates and deflates to grip and then release one’s arm. Massaging both legs simultaneously: Put on both sets of massage sleeves (left and right) and choose your massage “program.” Whatever the kind of massage you choose will be applied to both legs at the same time. Massaging one leg. Put on the massage sleeves for one leg (the sleeves are clearly labeled “left” and “right” and choose your massage program. Choosing a Program: The Control for the massager has essentially two kinds of programs: Choose C (Combined Mode) - to massage multiple parts of your leg or the entire leg Choose S (Separate Mode) - to massage a particular part of the leg — T (Thigh), C (Calf) or F (Foot) Intensity: Whatever mode you choose, the default intensity setting is “2”. You can decrease the setting to 1 or increase it to 4 by pressing the minus (-) and plus (+) intensity button as needed. Turning the Massager On and Off: The On/Off button is found at the top of the controller. Once on and you’ve chosen your program, the massager will remain on until you use the On/Off button to turn it off or after 20 minutes of use at which time, it will power itself off. Pros: Whether you want to use this massager to enhance mindful body scans, to bring oxygen and healing to sore legs or to simply relax, this easy to use tool will get the job done. Cons: The product out of the box, with its multiple sleeves and cables, can appear a little scary. Fear not though, getting properly sleeved up is much simpler than it first appears. It is in fact a breeze as long as you first step into the lower leg sleeve, and then orient the thigh sleeve according to the up and down labels before fastening it. This is a great find for us and at a very fair price!!

Im a fan
I have to reading a lot of the reviews. People complained about it, not feeling like a normal massage. Well, duh, it wouldn't, but the compression has definitely helped my circulation. And after going through 2 cycles (at a time), my legs feel great and rejuvenated.

Solid product
Year later update: still going strong! Again I do not share my device and the product should be strapped loose enough to maneuver out of without unfastening so my Velcro is still intact because I am not disturbing it each use. Have only used once as it’s new but I feel like this will be a quality product for a while. It is in fact compression so a little reading and you won’t be upset that it’s not kneading your legs. I did notice my legs felt much better after use and I’m hopeful the daily use will benefit me more. The instructions are pretty straightforward. I didn’t find the noise bothersome and I’m easily irked lol. For those worried about the Velcro- it will lose its grip eventually, we all know how Velcro works, so what I suggest is to not share your device- that way you can slip the entire thing off without needing to open and shut it every use- this will extend the life of the Velcro. Once my session ended that’s what I did and will be able to slip right back in the next go around. When you share the device you will have to adjust each use to compensate the different user sizes.

Hospital compression vs. Renpho - honest review
I purchased this item back in Dec, 2019 knowing I had 3 medical procedures coming up between Feb and June, 2020. Finally after trying it several times on various occasions - I decided to sit down and write a review, which I rarely do. I found that during and following each medical procedure medical facilities routinely use a calf compression device, so I'm using those experiences as a baseline to compare it to this Renpho compression device. At first I thought the leg compression at the hospital or medical facilities was adequate, but once I tried the Renpho device I found it to be far superior because it does more than just the calves. It actually puts pressure on the feet, legs and thighs for full compression support to remove fluids from the feet on up. Since I had never quite had that kind of simultaneous pressure all at once at first I was a bit apprehensive and thought it was going to get too tight and hurt, but I relaxed and let the machine do its thing and I found that after trying it on the low setting and experiencing how I felt using the machine, the added pressure felt a bit discomforting but in a good way. It was like a good pain sort of. I tried it a second time, now knowing what to expect and the pressure was more welcomed, the discomfort lessened and felt better. Each time I did it, I felt better and better I also tried the device on the medium and high settings and found it had a massaging, soothing effect even though there was also pressure - it was a good feeling. I now prefer just to use it on the high setting to get maximum benefit. The edema in my legs has went down so the machine is doing its job. The device is super easy to use - the legs, feet and control are all connected. Just make sure you don't have any wool blankets on the bed since they will snag and stick to the velcro on the leg units. It does help to either look at the directions or realize that the thigh pieces only fit ONE way because they are contoured to fit on your leg a certain way, so if you get it wrong, just turn it upside down and try again. The only downside of buying this item I think is the storage - its kind of big and bulky and you kind of have to find a bigger box to put it in after use or fiddle with trying to squeeze it back into the original box. Over all I would buy it again, give it a 5 star and recommend it to anyone. It seemed far superior as a compression device to the standard calf compression used in medical facilities. I can only say you would have to experience it for yourself to see the difference.

A Life-Changing Purchase!
I purchased the RENPHO Air Compression Leg Massager to help with persistent leg swelling and fatigue, and I am absolutely thrilled with the results! From the very first use, I felt immediate relief in my tired and swollen legs, thanks to its gentle yet powerful air compression that mimics professional massage techniques. The variety of massage modes and intensity levels is fantastic, making it suitable for anyone from athletes recovering from intense workouts to elderly individuals needing gentle circulation improvement. Personally, I love the flexibility of switching between Combine mode, which massages the entire leg seamlessly, and Separate mode, where I can target specific areas like my calves or thighs individually. Set-up was incredibly simple, and the adjustable straps provided a comfortable fit even on days when my legs were especially swollen. The 20-minute timer is perfect for ensuring I don't overuse the massager, although it's so soothing I often find myself wanting another session right away! Additionally, the quality of the product itself exceeded my expectations—durable, lightweight, and clearly designed with user comfort and effectiveness in mind. It has become an essential part of my daily routine, significantly reducing pain and improving my overall comfort. This massager would make a thoughtful gift for anyone struggling with circulation issues or leg discomfort. Truly a must-have for every household! Highly recommended!

Didn't expect to work as well as it does
Happily this product turned out to be a winning purchase. My uncle suffers from severe edema in his legs and feet, and at times it gets so bad that compression socks are impossible for him to get on. He was recently put on medication for a newly diagnosed heart condition as well as the DASH diet, but his doc told him he needed to massage his legs from groin to toes at least twice a day to help deal with the water retention and swelling. He's reluctantly doing the diet and meds (he's one of those that won't go to the doctor unless bleeding from his eyeballs and his arms fell off), but the leg massage was something he would do for just a minute then stop. These were purchased to help with the massage recommendation, and luckily he has been diligent about using. They're easy to put on, easy to program and use, have an automatic shutoff, and show almost immediate results. These function almost exactly like the ones they use in hospitals. The air pockets inside the sleeves gently inflate and deflate to help compress an area to improve blood flow. The strength of the compression can go from very gentle on the lowest setting to quite vigorous on the highest setting, but nothing painful. Using on bare legs is best, as using over clothing (especially thick clothing like jeans) can affect how well the sleeves work. The sleeves themselves are generously sized and even when his thighs are really bad with edema, he's been able to wear the sleeves for that area without any trouble. He's pretty diligent about keeping the sleeves clean and making sure everything is properly stored after using. Even my aunt has begun using these when her legs hurt after an unusually active day and she needs a little relief. She only uses the parts for the lower legs and feet, and lets the thigh part lay loose. It's a nice feature that you can use just one of the sleeves, or just one of the three parts (thigh, calf, foot) on their own, or use the portion for the calves on your arms and the portion for feet on your hands. So far it's been close to a month of use (twice a day, after waking up and before going to bed) and his cardiologist is very pleased with the results. The edema has really improved, which has improved his mobility, which has helped his diet and weight loss, which has improved his blood pressure. Truthfully, these seemed like a gimmicky item that would end up being returned because they didn't work as described or were so cheaply made they fell apart after one use. Nope, they really do work. It stinks they don't come with a carry/storage bag, but the whole kit when deflated and rolled up fits into a regular small duffel bag or backpack.

My Velcro Fastenings Are Wearing Out Too Quickly
Before anything else: This product has made a very positive difference in my legs. Being wheelchair-bound, fluids accumulate & cause swelling in my legs, ankles & feet. Quite often I get asked if I'm diabetic because of it. Not so much anymore. I use the compression "boots" every day or 2 to force the fluids from my legs & feet, which also is like receiving a nice massage. Although I haven't used them in bed, I imagine you could do so lying down as long as you don't kink or block the air tubes. The pros: * Easy to use right out of the box * Compressor is very good (more than adequate) * Easy to understand its different modes/sequences * Boots are easy to match & put on; made of tough material * Various modes & sequences to target your whole legs, or part(s) of them The cons: * No carrying bag for storage when not in use * The lettering on the compressor is quite small & difficult to read * The BIG one - after about 4 months of regular use, the velcro on the feet began to pop loose shortly after starting a sequence. I tried decreasing the pressure but that didn't help for very long. I was able to use a couple of bands to hold them closed - but shortly afterward the leg & thigh parts began to pop loose too. I don't have bands to keep these parts closed, yet - but the thing is, I shouldn't have to. At a $100 price this product should be able to last more than 5 or 6 months! Otherwise it's a very good product that fulfills it purpose excellently - except for the velcro fastenings. Maybe it's just this pair, but next time I hope to find something more durable even if it costs me a little extra (but not too much). * a caveat for where I said "easy to use" - I can't put them on by myself because of my condition; but my wife & caretaker put them on me & take them off with little apparent effort. It sure beats trying to wear compression socks/stockings or the hit-or-miss of wrapping my legs & feet with "Ace" pressure bandages. The socks/stockings were expensive and difficult to size & use; if not done correctly the bandages often caused gradual excruciating pain(s) shortly after wrapping. No such difficulty or pain/discomfort in using this product.

Relaxing
This is not a massager in the same way you'd feel if a massage therapist actually just massaged your muscles, but it does provide pleasant and relaxing pressure to help improve circulation so you will feel a sense of "massage." The cycle is 20 minutes before it automatically shuts off. I found repeating another 20 minutes was too much. There are several cycle combos and pressure intensities. I personally enjoy #3 where it does feet, then calves, then thighs in rotation. I find the lowest intensity works well for me, but you can also loosen the wrap if you find that is too much of a squeeze. It is awkward (not difficult) to put on and to save the velcro, I have been just sliding my legs and feet into it (like putting on pants) vs opening and closing the wrap. I realize this is not an option for everyone. The cords are bulky and can get in the way if you don't lay it out first. The storage bag it comes with is ridiculously small and pretty useless. I'd suggest keeping the box for storing it as neatly as possible - unless you just leave it out, in which case you will need to watch that the cords don't get tangled. I agree with other reviewers that the thin cord from the device to the power source is too short and limits where you can use this because you need to be close to an outlet. I recommend this for relaxing leg recovery with one star off for all the cord wrangling that is required.
