The replacement charger I bought here is asin: B099PH6787. This works fine for me and I'm satisfied.

Definitely the gears of the vehicle have to be in the rear and assembled on the bar which connects to the tires .

Q: How do you switch the car to manual instead of being controlled by the remote?

There's gears on the right side, just use that
