I needed to connect a pre-amp and turntable to a receiver without a dedicated phono input. Because I also had a CD changer and only one open input remaining, this A-B switch was the answer. Plug in the two devices to the switcher, connect that to the receiver. Done. On a side note, although the item appears to be gray it is actually black.

Works well

This is a very solid, simple little switch that does exactly what it's supposed to. It has a hefty metal case, and it already has decent cables to connect to the target device, and four decent RCA jacks for the input devices. Note: they're "decent" cables and jacks - if you're a rabid oxygen-free-silver-cable audiophile, you'd better go buy a Goldpoint or similar for 30 times as much (plus cables), because you'll never be happy with this simple device.My only complaint is that it's very small and has no way to mount it or stabilize it. So it just sits wherever you put it at the mercy of things getting bumped and moved around. Even some little stick-on silicone feet would be nice, which you can of course add yourself, but it would be nice if they came in the package.I haven't measured everything to see if there's a possibility for any ground loops or other possible problem. Some people complain of crosstalk - you can hear audio from the unselected input - but my audio sources are always off when not in use, so that hasn't been a problem for me.In general, I think you'll like this device, especially at the very reasonable price.

This was perfect for adding an additional input to my older stereo receiver. Plug and play.

Overlooked the "push-button" in the description. I bought this because I thought it had a knob shown in the picture.

Unlike other devices of a similar type, this unit is fully shielded from AC hum.

This device is just what I needed and works well. Importantly, it comes with cables attached, making installation easy.
