In my research, I found that there are two types of yellowjackets here. (They are hornets.) One type nests in voids in buildings (that's what I had) and the other ones are ground nesting. Make sure that you apply it after dark, so that all the insects are in the nest. I spoke w/an exterminator, and he told me that pyrethrin will basically kill anything. **Q: Can this be used like permethrin to treat clothing? Thank you.** A: Randy, You could. But you'll probably be wasting your time. This product uses pyrethrin for an active. Pyrethrin is a natural insecticide and widely used because it breaks down quickly. In most cases, within an hour of being applied. Now when used as a clothing soak, it would be active for a short while after you remove the clothing you soak. But within 30-60 minutes of being removed, the pyrethrin will be gone so the impact of the treatment would be very short lived and my guess, not worth your effort. Conversely permethrin, which is the man made version of pyrethrin, does in fact provide a lasting residual. How long? Its hard to say because there are so many variables. But if you're using it to any significant degree, it should provide 4-8 hours of protection at least. And if mixed strong enough, a day or two. Had to Google the proper way to mix for small batches. Have noticed in the past from other pyrethrin brands that it can burn cucumber plants. So be careful test on a small area first.
