This pen exceeded my expectations! At first, I was a bit apprehensive about buying a single pen for more than a dollar or two. I’m not really an avid writer, and I can get by just fine with the cheap plastic pens you can find at CVS and Staples. But this pen has changed my perspective! It writes so smoothly and elegantly, and it feels good in my hand while I write. I have to buy thin-tipped pens because my handwriting is very small, and the tip of this pen is perfect for me. When I write, the words don’t look all scrunched together because the pen is so fine that each letter stands out clearly without blurring or smudging. I also really like the added touches in the presentation. For example, the pen comes with a refill cartridge that has a little cap on it so that it doesn’t dry out. Additionally, the cap of the pen doesn’t have a way to clip onto the end of the pen when you’re writing, which I think is nice for this particular pen because I would be worried that the cap would scuff up the wooden exterior. The box is very sleek too, and the whole presentation of the pen in the box is so elegant that I would expect it to be more expensive than it is. I got this pen in walnut, but I think I will be getting some other colors as gifts for my friends and family this holiday season!

The pen came in a nifty box to hold it along with an extra ink cartridge, which is a bonus in appeal for me. It is extremely sleek and professional looking. The body of the pen is very smooth, and easy to hold onto. The cap is very sturdy and makes a satisfying clicking sound when you close it, ensuring that the lid is on all the way. At first the pen seemed a little heavy, but upon further inspection, the weight came from the cap. If you are accustomed to writing with your cap on your pen, this might not be the pen for you, but then again, why would you need to put your cap on your pen if you are using this one. For a ballpoint pen, it really gives off the impression of a calligraphy pen, which is aesthetically pleasing for me. The pen writes very smoothly and had a steady stream of ink come through it. It is a very nice pen, I love it! I will make sure to use this in my office space. It reminds me of a pen that a lawyer or doctor would use when signing documents. I would recommend it if you are looking for a ballpoint pen that isn’t a generic pen you buy from the store. It is also very affordable for the quality of pen!

I got the walnut finish, and it is true to the photos for color. The wood was sanded very smooth, and the overall fit and finish bellies a pen at this price point. It feels good in the hand, and the ink is a good quality, and flows very smooth. I only subtracted a star because there is no other color ink, so black ink it is. And the ball is probably a 0.5mm point, which is finer than my personal choice. However, after eyeballing the cartridge at a local office supply store, took a chance and bought a Pilot V7 RT in 0.7mm blue ink, and it fits perfectly. (For only $3/2 refills, too.) My suggestion: pick the style you like, and get this pen. If, like me, it's not perfect, a modest refill can be all it needs to become an instrument you enjoy using.

This is my second of the 'wood series' pens, and I just love them. I use an e-ink tablet for most of my note taking, so when I reach for a pen, I want it to feel premium. This feels super premium, but sits at a very budget-friendly price point. The weight is great. With the cap on the back it's a little longer than most pens (and I wasn't sure how I'd feel about that), but I really like it. The wood has a nice feel to it, and the ink cartridges are smooth, flowy, and satisfying. Again, i wanted that premium feel for those occasions that I still scribble something on paper - and I wanted a few of them lying around. That's tough to do with $100 pens - and this one holds it's own against them. Highly recommended!

For the price, this is a great quality pen. It comes in a relatively cheap, albeit decent box with an extra ink cartridge. Both the cartridges are thick, so I expect they'll last a long time. When writing, it gives almost a scratch feel like a quill or fountain pen, which is highly satisfying. The line is thin, and the ink does not smear AT ALL, which is fabulous for the left hander I bought it for. It doesn't bleed through, either, and I don't expect the "scratchiness" to go through paper at all.
