It is a very good book well written.

I like the layout of this book of identifying each tip and explaining it separately. One can skim over the very basic and common sense parts and focus on equipment, technique or others of interest. It was also good to find a book that wasn't about fishing in the 60's although many tips have been repeated. I have found that no matter the equipment one can catch fish if you focus on stealth, knowledge of species and their environment in the water and above. Good book to have in anyone's library.

Very practical, experience to share and to follow. Will help, but will not make you an expert. It’s practice rather!

Be safe and wear a n inflatable live vest as recommended. The Pacific surf is wild and constantly changing. You will go down sometime. Many good hints in this book.

I am definitely a beginner. I just bought my rod and reel and started practicing. I bought this book to get some needed information on my new sport. Although I liked the book, I thought it needed to be more specific. I found the author's voice was speaking to someone with more knowledge than me. I felt that each chapter could have been filled with more information. I was left with the feeling of "wait I still don't get it" after each chapter. I will read through it again, hopefully some more information sinks in.

Very easy to read. Covers the basics of saltwater fly fishing. Made for those starting out in saltwater fly fishing and offers some nice tips.

Great book for the beginner! very quick to skim through and has lots of great pictures and diagrams. I have been figuring out saltwater fly fishing for the past year or so and still learned a lot from this book.

Great info for a newbie to bet ready for his first saltwater fly fishing trip.
