Great boot, I may cancel my doctor’s appointment!
I have plantar fasciitis that became so chronic, it was hurting nearly 24 hours a day and it was excruciating. I can’t get in to see the doctor for a month so I took matters into my own hands, read reviews and decided on this one. I ordered the short in a medium, I wear a size 10, my ankles and calves are probably a fairly typical build, I’m tall and active and the medium fits me well. As you can see from my photo, my toes are right up to the top but do not hang out. At first, I was surprised that this insole is so flat and not very padded but then I realized, how could they? The boot is meant to be worn on either foot. So I put in my own insole and it works great. I also like the fact that you can customize the fit with the air pump! Works fine for me. I’m back to walking my dog, I still am limiting myself to 1 1/2 to 2 miles a day for now but we go on dirt trails. It can be a bit clumsy over the river rocks but you just have to watch and be aware, your foot doesn’t give you much feedback for balance due to the stiff plastic so that’s to be expected. Some people have complained about the weight but I wanted something that would be durable so this works great for me. Also, the “squeaking” that some people complain about is due to the Velcro rubbing on the upper part of the boot where it is meant to hold the back and front together. Some suggested turning the plastic upside down so the toe end actually goes against your shin. It’s really not intended to fit that way. Simple answer, take off one of the pieces of Velcro on each side. The strap holds it in place! I’m too busy to be bothered by the noise. I can see where If you worked in a quiet office, it would be obnoxious every time you walked around. After only 3 days wearing this boot, I am amazed at how well my foot is doing! I’m also stretching and wearing KTtape on my arch to support my instep. I’m doing all I can to get rid of this pain and if it continues at this rate, I’m canceling my doctor’s appointment!

Comfortable and really stabilizes your foot
I really hate to admit but this is my second boot. Not that I enjoy wearing it, the first time I the Dr. recommend this boot for broken toes. Sounds funny broken toes not much you can do about that but since it was multiple breaks and there was no way in the world a shoe was going on my foot I followed the Dr. advise. So second time, broken foot, its on my foot now. Since this boot becomes your friend and buddy for about 6 weeks plus it does put up with a lot. My first boot just wore out, I wore it the first part of this injury but the cushion and support just was not the same and it became uncomfortable. I ordered a new one (exact same boot) and is like heaven on my foot compared to the old worn out one. The boot is very easy to wear, it has a fabric material that wraps over your foot and the top plastic piece goes over that. The velcro straps hold everything tight and snug and there is two air cushions that are located right by the ankle. A device is provided with the boot to inflate those while wearing the boot for added comfort and protection. While the boot is a bit heavy feeling it really does not bother me as it is there for the healing, support and protection of a injury, a cast would be heavy as well and not so much freedom as a boot. The velcro can at times make noise, my kids laugh as I can not sneak up on them, the boot gives me away every time. Once again it doesn't bother me. I do wash the bottom of the boot with a paper towel after going out as our home is a shoes off home. It cleans up every easy.

Perfect!
I broke my left foot, ankle, Fibula to be exact in 2 places while riding my mountain bike in June 2014. Had a cast put on due to not being able to afford a medical boot by the doctor. Wish I had sought this Aircast out back then. I've just recently graduated out of a regular cast and into the Aircast. What a breath of relief! I have more freedom now to perform normal basic hygiene on my foot and perform range of motion as well as continue using my Exogen bone stimulator without tiring. The Aircast is comfortable and provides better stability than a cast. It has a nice rubber stepping base, similar to a expensive sneaker. The inside padding under foot is extremely comfortable. The padded velcro straps cover, protect and stabilize the foot and ankle nicely. The inflator/deflator on either side work as designed. Upon first examination of Aircast the left pump was stuck below its portal and did not work. I had to carefully pull the tube up and push it into port. It appears to be working as of yesterday. As I stated I've just graduated from a cast yesterday to the Aircast boot. Over all I am pleased with product. Most pleased with price. The insurance companies could learn a thing or two where not to push paying high deductible in order to obtain proper treatment(s) or medical equipment in these cases. I couldn't afford to pay my high deductible before obtaining proper medical equipment. Thank you Amazon! And their sellers! You've made my life a little easier with the Aircast. Another two months and I hope to be cast/boot free and possibly walking again.

GREAT WALKING BRACE - WITH MODIFICATIONS
This boot is SO much more comfortable than the huge, black boot I had in the past that went up to my knee. That was horribly uncomfortable to walk in and put a lot of pressure on my shin while walking. But this one is lightweight but feels very sturdy. I've been wearing it for about 2 weeks during waking hours. I've not had any tripping issues and it feels secure. It's helping my foot recover from a pulled tibial tendon. What makes me nuts about this boot, and why it didn't get 5 stars, is the strip of Velcro on either side of the upper plate that rests against your ankle and lower shin. RIP RIP RIP with each step.. It was awfully annoying. I carefully peeled those 2 Velcro strips off. You can see in the photo how the upper strap holds that section against your ankle/shin has a big strap. That's where the Velcro was underneath that section. It hasn't affected the wear ability or the support at all. Now I can walk around my office without making a bunch of noise.

First review ever, MUCH deserved.
I'd torn all the ligaments in my left ankle &, 2 weeks later, broke a toe on my right foot (yeah, I'm a mess, but that's beside the point). No brace, no matter how sturdy, was adequate enough to lock my injuries into place so they could heal. After doing lots of research on different boots, plus the fact that I have small heels, so even shoes can sometimes be tricky to find, I decided to get this one based on the ability to inflate it to the needed amount of compression. My GOSH! This boot is AMAZING. It provided INSTANT RELIEF. This is more stable & snug on the foot than even the cast I had to wear years ago when I tore my Achilles tendon. Yeah, I still hurt, of course, because I still have injuries that are healing, but I don't feel like I want to chop my feet off now. The comfort & stability are second to none. The fit was great for ME, but my shoe size was dead center of those suggested for boot sizes (ex, Small is for women's size 5-8, I'm a 7, & my toes reach the boot tip when inflated to needed compression level - so if you wear an 8, buy a size Medium). I can actually walk instead of hobble now, & I can't shut up about it. Thank you for such a fabulous device!

BEWARE OF SIZING and DESIGN FLAWS!!!! OUCH!!!
This boot runs very small. I wear a 6.5 and I ordered the Small which should fit sizes 5-8 but it does not fit comfortably it is TOO SMALL. I have a Jones fracture and I needed to wear a boot for 6-8+ weeks and my doc recommended this brand (they sell a version of them in their office) and I decided to order it online to save money. I have tried every way to wear it but the pump device that blows up the little plastic pads inside sits RIGHT on my fracture and it does not matter if the green thing is blown all the way up, the pressure of just standing on my foot presses the pad out on either side and the pump device portion isn't flush with the boot so it ends up sitting directly on my injury. :'( I am not overweight so that is not the issue. I wanted to love this boot and I DO like that it has a rubberized bottom to give it good grip to keep the injured person from slipping down! It is such a shame that this one didn't work because I really need to wear a boot but since they won't take back the boot to exchange it for the right size, I will have to go back to the other boot with more plastic bottom, but at least it is padded like crazy so no hard plastic pieces press against my injury. The pictures I am attaching will show my injury (Jones fracture) and the circular area I drew in red is where ALL of my pain is from my injury but it is also right where the hard plastic pump mechanism sits directly on my foot. I have only worn this boot ONE TIME and when I got in the car to come home (I am a full-time nursing student and I walk around a lot) I could not wait to take off this boot and my foot had re-swollen to the size it was the night I got the original injury and it was blue again from bruising. I had to elevated and ice it again all evening which I had not had to do for nearly 5 weeks (since original injury). I cannot recommend this boot at all. The sizing was totally off as well so beware of that.

Considering injury it can do the job
I read all the reviews and I know I should have listened. Yet I needed this asap. I am taking into consideration due to one's injury maybe different than others so it may not be perfect but can do the job. Due to me having a badly sprained ankle the side air bags are in a bad place. Yet with a little added padding the aircast does just fine and is very comfortable afterwards. Due to having to add to this I think this boot is priced way to high to be worth it. Yet I needed something that would help me be able to walk. I am pleased that I can walk slow steps again rather than have to hop on one leg or use crutches. My body was in pain for 3 days from having to hop on one leg to get around the house. That being said this works to prevent that. Yet the airbag on one side doesn't hold air when pressure is against it (Which isn't a huge deal breaker for me due to that is the same side of my foot that has the injury in the same place, I replaced the airbag with memory foam, I also had to add an insole or foam padding under my foot (Very uncomfortable after time without), Yet due to the price and mechanics it fails) Now that being said onto the listed Pros and Cons Pros: I can walk slow steps again. Cons: The airbag on one side doesn't hold air when pressure is against it. Having to add padding to make this work and be comfortable is a must which is a fail for this product The sole being 3"+ taller than a normal shoe makes it very difficult to walk Size chart isn't completely correct. I wear a size 9.5 (9 1/2) men's shoe and I ordered the Medium per their chart on their website and my toes are almost sticking out the edge. I would recommend getting a Large for anyone that wears a size larger

Same Great Quality Aircast I Bought Through My Dr's Office Years Ago.
I needed an aircast for a foot injury. I don't have durable medical device coverage so I had to pay 100% of the cost of my aircast so I thought I'd shop around instead of handing over hundreds of dollars through my Dr's office. I had this exact Aircast years ago for a similar injury to my other foot and it was great. The Aircast SP arrived on time and fit perfectly (I wear a women's sixe 9 to 9.5 depending on the shoe so I ordered a medium Aircast). I already knew how it worked since I had one before but even if I didn't, it wouldn't be difficult to figure out. It protects my mid-foot injury well, doesn't cause foot pain and allows me to walk around without injuring my foot further. I was injuring my foot in my sleep so I wear this to bed (the sole is easily cleaned with alcohol for sanitary reasons before I go to bed) and I sleep fine (I keep a body pillow between my legs to keep the Aircast from laying to heavily on my other foot). I love that I can adjust the balloon inside the cast when I need to (I find it more comfortable to deflate the balloons before bed). I've been wearing it for about a month and it's held up well. The liner comes out for easy cleaning. I'm very glad that I bought this Aircast SP.
