Very informative book on the start of Steelband Movement in Trinidad and Tobago!! The book was also in very good condition!

This book is an excellent introduction to the history, practice, and purpose of steelpan music in Trinidad and Tobago. Dudley weaves his reader through the history of the nation as it coincides with steelpan leaders lifetimes. He brings to light topics of class structure, racism, etc. without casting a negative light on steelpan. Overall, an excellent book for a steelpan class or for a deeper understanding of steelpan in an upper-division world music class.
