Grandson 9 loved getting these for his birthday!

These are a true classic for young people. I gave them to my son who is now 36 and more recently to my 7 year old grandson. He loves them and couldn’t believe his father had also read these books so many years ago. A very enjoyable and entertaining set of stories about a boy and his adventures with his dog Ribsy. I loved giving them together in such a nice collection box. I highly recommend these books.

Bought this for my nephew to encourage him to read because he loved dogs. He said he really enjoyed these books. He has struggled with reading largely due to schools being shut down and then learning irregular because of the lockdowns so anything I can do to help him is important because there is a small window of time with children developing reading skills that can impact their academic achievement for life is they miss it and he was falling into that frame. I encourage anyone looking to keep working with the children in thier lives who also may be silently struggling and frustrated with this situation.

Bough these for a third grader I know wondering what a child of today would think of these classic stories. She loves them.

My 8 year old son has always loved to read and lately is into chapter books! He got one book in this series as a present and loved it so much, he asked for a set! He's had these a couple weeks now, and still wants to read them every night!

My not-so-keen-on-reading-9-year-old has become an avid reader of the can't-come-now-Mum-because-I-can't-put-my-book-down variety thanks to these books. She's whizzed through this set, the Ramona books and is almost finished the Ralph Mouse series as well. Lovely innocent stories that I remember from my childhood about a boy and his dog and his friends. American but accessible to anyone. Cleary writes from a child-eye perspective that captures the imaginations of her young readers. They're reading about small people who think about and worry about things in the same way they do. Nothing dubious or risqué or unpleasant -- just nice stories about nice people living quite ordinary lives -- and all the more captivating for that.

This is a great Christmas gift for my 9 year old grandson. I know he and I will enjoy reading it together during the holiday break

Fabulous books, but the sleeve on the set we got looked like it had been chewed. Since the books themselves were in perfect condition, our six year old decided to keep them, because he didn't want to wait for a replacement set. He needed to get started reading right away!! These would not have been fit to give as a gift.
