Great for crocheting at night, great build quality. I would definitely recommend this light.
This light is great for crocheting in the evening! I have excellent vision but I like to crochet while watching tv in the evening, when we keep the overhead lights in the room on dim. That’s fine for watching tv but not for close up multitasking. These light give just the right amount of brightness & sharpness for me to see my work very clearly, without distracting anyone next to me & it helps avoid a lot of eye strain. It feel like good build quality, like something you would get in a Sharper Image catalog. It really doesn’t feel cheap, like I was expecting. That impressed me. Also, I haven’t noticed that it gets warm, even after 3 hours of usage. It stays cool to the touch. I like that you can adjust the angle of both sides the way you need it and it’s long enough that it clears my umm, chest. The lights on each side work independently, which I though would be important, but it’s not really. I find that I prefer to keep them both on the same setting & on high. The low and medium are accurate brightness too, neither is too dim or too bright. The battery seems to last roughly 10 hours. I recharge them every 3-4 days and it works with any properly sized charger cable, not just the one that came with it. Its quite comfortable & lightweight to wear, the battery part is smooth against the back of my neck. I forget it’s there after a minute. My only minor negative, if you can even call it that, is that I don’t notice all 9 light settings. To me, it looks like 3: low, medium, high. I’m particular about color values and generally prefer neutral white light for task lighting so the differences must be pretty subtle if I don’t notice it. Since the left and right work independently, I’ve even tried to compare them against each other and I’m not noticing a color difference as I click thru the settings, just the difference in brightness. But it’s not a big deal, I’m very happy with the color. Its perfect. This light, in my opinion, was a very good buy, especially for the price. It was an impulse buy but it’s definitely been very useful and I’m sure it’s better for my eyes in the long run.

Great idea/product for someone who does close work with their hands.
Currently, I'm finishing some knitting projects for Christmas gifts. No spring chicken anymore, my eyes have difficulty with dark colors in not-so-bright light. These work great. The battery lasts at its brightest long enough for a sizable section to be done. Once it starts to dim, I know it's time to take a break before the arthritis sets in causing problems. I like that the lights have additional settings and can be aimed & adjusted in which ever direction you need: drape them around your neck, adjust and start in. I haven't tried them yet with crocheting and/or embroidery. They're upcoming projects - but they work great knitting black, navy and earth tones. Don't need them as much on pastels, Using fine double-point or circular needles the light is exactly where you need the extra boost. Only one small complaint - I wish they could be about 4" longer from tip to tip. Typical Grandma - I have a slightly larger 'front shelf' than some. It blocks the light when it slips. OOPS!

Great purchase and many uses!!!
Best reading light I’ve ever owned!! I read in bed a lot and I can adjust the light if my hubs is sleeping. It charges quick and I actually used it for several nights before the charge ran out. I had used it for so long I actually forgot it was rechargeable, and had to remember where I put the charger. (I’m also 56, so maybe it’s my age lol). I did find the charging port is common so even if I’d misplaced the charger I could use one of my others to recharge BIG PLUS!! I also want to add, if you get up a night during reading, you simply let the light hang where it is and it lights the way without fumbling for light switches in the dark. Bonus use (which I am sure the manufacturers never advertised for) I can use this light at work (Police Officer), so when I show up at a home at night I turn on my light or lights, illuminating my badge, and the word “Police” when I knock on a door so people can readily identify me. Obviously I don’t have the lights on all the time at night for officer safety reasons, but when it’s around my neck, I barely know it’s there! It weights about the same as a pair of sunglasses on a strap around my neck would. It also has a flexible piece which you can remove also for safety reasons in my job (choking hazard if someone gets a hold of it and wants to hurt me). The flexible “rope” effectiveness is not compromised by removing the piece. I also use it to go up and down stairs in dark stair wells (with proper light discipline of course). My only question is can you make one in black?????

Prefer clip on version from same brand
I received the standard clip on book light from the same brand as a gift that I was very happy with. It became a puppy chew toy, so when looking for a replacement, I went with the same brand, but tried this neck version since I do embroidery and thought it could help as a task light, too. Ultimately, the clip light was superior. First, the battery life is noticably shorter. I need to charge this after a few hours of non-continuous usage. Clip light doesn't need to be charged for months with the same usage. The positioning of the lights are always just a little off from where I want it to point. And if I readjust, chances are that I'll move in some way that requires readjustment again. I don't understand the elastic band either. The thing folds down small, but the elastic is too big to help compress the ends down. With this said, I am able to wear this while doing embroidery and I don't have to fiddle with clipping it on my hoop. I also wore it doing jigsaw puzzles and while it kept moving, it did help with a poorly lit room. And reading a book in bed with this is comfortable. But I'd still recommend everyone get a clip light

Staying charged when not in use.
This is good product. I've been using this light for a few years now. I love the fact that it is rechargeable, has 3 different levels of brightness, 3 different colors of lights and adjustable. I only use this occasionally in the morning. So I cant really say how long a charge lasts. I probably only charge it every 5 months or so. The best thing about it is that It will stay charged when not in use.
