Preschool Literacy: Get ready for reading

This book helped my younger son get a head start before kindergarten. When he got to school many words were already very familiar to him. He aced kindergarten. Easy books for parents to work with their kids from home.

The media could not be loaded. This is a great book for introducing letter sounds. But it also gets kids using the pencil, so it does also help with their writing skills, but not in an intrusive way. It's very simple-minded, but I like that it focuses a lot on the sounds of letters. It does help if your child already knows the individual sounds of the letters, whether you practice that with flashcards or other ways. The book is pretty straightforward when following directions on each page. It's a great starter book for the preschool age group!

I’ve followed the author on YouTube for years and she has done well as biblical woman and mother. Her methods have proven very efficient in teaching children to read and the book is a necessary part. If you watch her videos she has been using this concept years before the book even got published. My little is three and it’s my year’s goal to teach him how to read so I’ve gotten the books.

I bought 2 books. One for my 4 yr old who don't have much interest right now and almost 3 yr old who has done about 3 pages. I find it difficult for my almost 3 yr old to jump in to beginning sounds. She don't even get what that means. I wish it started with just sounds then maybe at the end of the book started to go over the beginning sounds.

I have been following Jady on YouTube for a few years. Since my kids are preschool aged I decided to go ahead and purchase several of her books. Hands down the best purchase. The print is larger as they are still leaning to color/write and the directions are simple and easy to follow. I’m all for supporting a small business instead of buying from a larger corporation.

I have bought maybe 6 or 7 workbooks for my 3 year old, and this is the ONLY book that actually teaches. Why? Because it uses repetition, interactivity, and the activities make the child pick out the distinct letters. My toddler finally knows what “A” and “a” are, no thanks to endless flash cards, showy kids books, gimmicky ABC toys, etc.THANK YOU JADY!!!
