CPU Cooling Fan Replacement for MSI GS63VR & GS73VR Series, 4-Pin DC 5V 0.5A, Compatible with GS63VR 6RF, 7RF, Stealth Pro, MS-16K2, MS-17B1, Includes Thermal Paste

Used to replace the CPU fan in a MSI GS63 Stealth 8RE laptop. Comes with thermal paste but if you are just replacing a failed fan you do not need it. About 14 months after buying the laptop the cpu fan failed. It started to make a loud grinding noise and on inspection the fan was stopping and starting over and over. The CPU was also running very hot since the fan wasn't working. There are 2 or 3 YouTube videos on how to replace the fan. So make sure to watch those but high level you have to: remove the bottom of the laptop unplug everything from the motherboard Remove motherboard and battery Disconnect and replace cpu fan on motherboard Reconnect and reinstall motherboard and battery The fan works great now but I damaged a ribbon while reinstalling so the speakers dont work. It was definitely my fault but I always use bluetooth headphones anyway so I dont care. Be careful when you're reinstalling everything but this fan has worked great so far.

Installed about 3 months ago, still running well up to this point. Unfortunately it's not very easy to install but if you need to replace your GPU (and/or CPU) fan, your going to need to pull the whole machine apart no matter what vendor you get the parts from. Based on the complexity of the job I would consider/recommend changing out all the fans together next time; but all the other oem fans in my machine are still working fine so hopefully they don't fail.

I initially bought this because my original fan was going bad and was making some terrible noises. I found this fan after looking around and decided to try it. The installation wasn't hard but it took a lot of time because you have to remove the motherboard to install the fan. The fan worked for about 5 months and then started making this terrible noise like the original one. Now I'll have to look for a new fan replacement because I can't stand using my laptop with the noise coming from this fan.

The part was as described and would have fit perfectly, but one of the mounting tabs was broken off when it arrived. I initiated the Amazon replacement order and now waiting for its arrival. Great part, otherwise.

Bought a replacement fan for my laptop because the old one was making a lot of noise and going out. I watched youtube video and replaced it by myself. I only had one problem with one wire but got it finally. I would recommend this product.

Cheap and does the job.

This is my second one, bought from different vendors. They are all identical to the original MSI fan. The first one came with the garbage plastic housing bent, and was useless. This second one was a little better, and was silent, for 1 week. Now it's grinding as bad as the others. These are absolute trash, with garbage bearings and no structural integrity. The fact that I am continuously paying $30+ each for these is absolute madness. I'm getting a little tired of returning these...

Need to replace every year or two but this one but this one did last 2 months.... the GPU fans has been replaced after 2-3 years still no issues.
