Inspiring and Perfect for Creative Flow
One Poem a Day is such a thoughtful tool for writers who want to build a consistent creative practice. The prompts are simple but effective, giving just enough direction to spark an idea without boxing you in. I love that it encourages daily writing in a way that feels approachable instead of overwhelming. As someone who has kept journals for years, I really appreciate the structure here. It gives you space to experiment, reflect, and even surprise yourself with what comes out on the page. On busy days, it makes it easy to still show up to the practice, and on slower days, it invites you to go deeper. What I enjoy most is how it makes poetry feel less intimidating. You don’t have to be “a poet” to benefit — you just need curiosity and a willingness to put pen to paper. This has quickly become one of my favorite writing companions, and I’ll be recommending it to friends who want to nurture their creativity one day at a time.

A nice poem prompts book
I was skeptical about ordering this book because sometimes these types of prompts can be lame, but I'm pleasantly surprised by all the good ideas and a good amount of space to write in too. Very nice.

I’m a Poet and I Know it.
I have at least one more book of writing prompts, but I love that this one is specifically geared for poetry, and that the prompts are so varied, fun, and challenging. It’s not overwhelming to see a blank page with this book as it would be with a larger blank notebook.

A good prompt book with a few small problems
I really enjoyed this book. The poetry prompts were simple enough to be intuitive. I did have a few issues, though. 1) I wish the book had more format options, such as hardcover or spiral-ring. 2) I wish the pages were numbered. I ended up numbering every page so I could find the poems more easily. Further, it would be nice if there were a table of contents and appendix to help find particular prompts. 3) I really wish there were two or three blank pages between prompts so I could draft longer poems. I completed the book with 274 poems. It was a really good number of poems for the book. It took me over two months to write them all, which felt like a great value for the price. I’m now on the hunt for a similar book that doesn’t have the few small issues that this one has.

Purchased for a poem loving friend
If you're on the hunt for the perfect gift for someone who has an affinity for poetry, look no further—this is undoubtedly the ideal choice. While I haven't had the personal experience of using or delving into this particular item myself, I had the pleasure of gifting it to a dear friend of mine who is an English major. Her reaction was overwhelmingly positive and enthusiastic. Upon presenting her with this gift, her eyes lit up with excitement, and she eagerly shared her appreciation for its contents. Knowing her profound love for poetry, I wanted to ensure that the gift resonated with her interests and passions, and I can confidently say that it did not disappoint. She expressed how the item I gifted her with was not only beautifully curated but also deeply resonant, capturing the essence and nuances of poetic expression that she cherishes. Moreover, witnessing her genuine delight and satisfaction reaffirmed my belief in the gift's quality and appropriateness for poetry enthusiasts. It served as a testament to its appeal and ability to captivate individuals who have a profound appreciation for the art of poetry. In conclusion, based on the heartfelt reaction and genuine appreciation from my English major friend, I can wholeheartedly endorse this as a thoughtful and meaningful gift for anyone who holds poetry dear to their heart. Its ability to resonate with those who have a deep passion for poetic expression makes it a memorable and cherished present for any occasion.

I’ve only just started but so far I can say that I’m really enjoying this book! I’ve never been one to write poetry but something about this concept really intrigued me. Every now and then I get the urge to do something creative but I just don’t know what or where to begin. This book is perfect for those moods! I especially enjoy the ones where you rearrange words to create a new poem and the ones where you complete each line. Great to have starting points but still allows for creativity!

If there is one hard lesson that this cruel and tantalising world has taught me, it is this - one's creative muse is a fey and fickle mistress. She frolics and flitters in the cracks and quiet corners of one's consciousness, coy and coquettish, teasing one's imagination with fleeting images of half-remembered dreams and misty memories of childhood wonders. If one is careful enough and lucky enough, she will from time to time cease her restless dancing and allow one a few precious moments to observe and record her ethereal images. However, in recent years, I had begun to fear that my own sweet angel of inspiration had finally deserted me completely. It seemed that I had been chronically afflicted by that most crippling and prosaically named creative malady, Writer's Block. My quill sat impotent in my hand, my inkpot unstirred and untroubled. I would wait for hours in the vain hope that I would meet a metaphor or simile. Silly me! Nothing. Then, when the faint flickering flame of hope was almost extinguished, an old friend (actually, more of an old acquaintance, if I'm being completely honest) recommended this unassuming brown book to me. He assured me that it had provided him with a creative elixir during similarly troubled and barren times. I was sceptical at first, anticipating some sort of patronising self-help nonsense designed for feeble-minded fools. Little did I know ... Within an hour of breaking open the cellophane, my beauteous muse had returned to me, bristling with energy and dancing through the fields of my mind with gay abandon. Consequently, my words are once again flowing as freely as a mountain stream in springtime. This book is to the creative mind as manure is to potatoes. In just over a week since opening this wise and wonderous book, I have completed nearly 30 new poems (29 to be exact). Just to give you an example of the potency of this metaphorical manure, below is my latest piece. This one is called British Weather: British Weather In London it can get quite warm, Which sometimes means a thunderstorm. In Manchester it tends to rain Again And again And again And again. The Scottish Highlands are cold and snowy, Battered by a wind so blowy. The south coast doesn't get that cold, Which makes it perfect for the old. So many different types of weather, Britain brings them all together. A week ago, a work displaying this level of poignancy and visceral power would have been inconceivable to me. Yet I am now tossing these off as quickly as my quill can scratch them down. Such is the potency of the literary fertiliser contained within this modest brown tome. I would implore you to buy this wonderful book, this metaphorical manure, as soon as you are physically able, and prepare yourself for a storm of creativity!
