SWANSON S 100% Natural Organic Chicken Broth, 32 oz Carton (12 Pack)

This is my favorite chicken broth for cooking stews and soups, as a base for quinoa and savory oatmeal, and a whole mess of other things. The sodium is a bit up there, so I make sure I reduce the salt that is required in recipes. I feel it's more full-bodied in flavor than the organic version, so this is the one I stick with.

I use this as a base for stew. Great I use 1.5 containers of the stock per 1 c split peas, 1/4 c rice, 3-4 carrots and 3 1/2 chicken breaststroke. Cook in a pressure cooker for 30 minutes. Separate the chicken, and puree the soup mixture. Did I mention that I cook this for my dogs? It makes enough for one day of food (just the chicken and some of the stew). The rest of the stew, is enough for 3 days but I have to cook more chicken. I could cook more chicken at the same time as the stew, but it gets pretty tight, I digress! Overall, there's nothing to not like about the chicken stock! It adds flavor to everything that you can cook with it!

This is my all time favorite broth for all cooking but especially for soups. Even tastes great sipping as is.Taste and quality are tops. When I purchased it online the price was 10 cents cheaper per quart than at my grocery store. But I noticed that the price has increased, so will need to start purchasing at my grocery store again. Too bad! It was so convenient to have it delivered.

I like the form of the shelf stable organic chicken broth and find it easy to use. I use it in soups and in cooking dried beans instead of water. The flavor is quite acceptable to me especially if mixed with onions & garlic & other spices.

Organics are important to us. So when I read in Cook's Illustrated magazine that they rated this chicken broth the best, I quit trying out all the others. And when I found out I could get it delivered to my door by Amazon in their subscription program I was delighted. Now we never run out and I'm in agreement with the rating. It's great.

I am not a huge supported of Swanson, but I use broth quite often in my homemade recipes. I choose organic because of the health worries with conventional products. Yes, you do pay a little more for organic, but it is cheaper now than paying for doctor bills in the future. I do find that this brand is a bit overpriced. I have been able to find another organic broth that is a little easier on the pocketbook.
