APEXEL High Power 28x HD Phone Telephoto Lens with Remote Shutter Works with iPhone X/XR Samsung Pixel Android Any Smartphones

I received the Apexel APL-JS28X 28X telephoto lens as a gift from my husband to use on my smartphone for bird watching photos. I know he did his research before purchasing. The telephoto lens was easy to attach to my phone with the metal clip provided. It also came with a nice lens bag, lens cover, fixing ring for a tripod, rubber fender for monocular and cleaning cloth. Due to the 28X telephoto lens, I found that it would be best to have a tripod for a clear picture since it is hard to keep the phone still with the magnification. What is nice is that the telephoto lens also came with Bluetooth Remote Shutter for when the smartphone is on the tripod, with the telephoto lens to eliminate shake, to ensure a clear photo. I also attached the telephoto lens to my tablet for a larger view of the frame. It worked wonderfully. Without currently having a tripod (to purchase separately) I was able to take photos and video of objects with much larger view of the subject matter with my tablet. Since my tablet is thin, I also used a small piece of vinyl (faux leather) to keep the metal clip snug against the front of the tablet. It is a great, easy to use, telephoto lens for either a smartphone or tablet.

The media could not be loaded. After trying every possible way to connect this setup to line up properly with my phone, I have to say that this adapter is a complete FAILURE and a nightmare for me. While shooting it slid down and off the phone even though I removed my case it would not stay in the proper mount to even play with the focus. The rubber rubbed off and onto my iPhone screen and seemed to serve no real purpose. The design of this adapter is very flawed because of the Angled top which adds to the frustration of getting this device to mount properly enough to line up with either camera lens of my iPhone 12. I tried putting silicone under it to maybe create some stability that didn’t work. It ROCKS even when tighten to its fullest. I’m extremely disappointed with this adapter. The lens didn’t have chance to be properly reviewed because without a good adapter the lens is USELESS.UPDATE after constantly trying every way to get this lense to stay on my iPHone12, I succeeded but the quality of the photos was a GREAT disappointment. They were never clear and you can’t adjust focus for detail. For some reason my lense had spots in it when trying to do a close up of a flower or a water feature video. Not satisfied with this purchase and considering sending it back because it just isn’t as good as some of it’s competitors that are cheaper in price range.

I saw the ad headings including “any smartphones” and also fits “98% of smartphones”. Although I was not able to use this lens, it appears to be made of very good materials. It’s quite heavy compared to the phone. Not something you’d want to carry around with the intentions of “impulse” usage. You need to find a tripod as well. Another anti-impulse item. Good looking product. No comment on actual outcome of use since I did not use it.

Love the lens perfect no problems with that but the attachment that goes to your phone is a little small it’s not wide enough they should’ve made it a 16th of an inch wider for everyone’s phone has covers that are not the same thickness I don’t want to take off my Cell phone cover to take pictures. I have to figure out another way.

I have been playing with it the last few days and am really excited to use it for my trip. Glad I bought it and would definitely gift it to a friend or family member who likes photography.I really liked that I could change the view, meaning that I could modify the field of view with just a few twists. The remote shutter was a plus, as my old one was lost. It works on our Apple, LG G8, and Samsung Galaxy S7 phones.It's compact, fits in my purse. It's heavy but durable and manageable too. The lens looks well made. The picture quality is about what you would you would expect for the price, which is low. The fit was good on my new iPhone. Not exactly a Leica, but it cost 2K less.You absolutely need a tripod to steady the ipnone with this relatively heavy lense attached. I wish they sold a windshield clamp as you can not hand-hold. This would be great for photos of a humming bird at a feeder by your window. Forget taking it in the field and drag out that old camera. There are rumors they still develop 35 mm film...

Beginning to become a brand fan of Apexel as the quality of the Telephoto Smartphone Lens is impressive. If you reference the pics, the actual lens feels as durable as one of those old school Mag flashlights made of durable metal. The included carrying case with all appropriate clips makes install a snap. Was surprised it also came with an optional remote but haven't yet had a chance to use as it may come in handy if I purchased the optional stand I saw when searching for accessories. In terms of the actual photo, some of it is in the skill of the photographer, and the other portion the quality of the lens. For the price point coming from the DSLR world, its hard to argue there's a cheaper entry point to shooting from a distance than this $50 lens for your smartphone.

This product simply does not work. I'm out $50.00.
