Moved it to the lowest setting and my Kawasaki 650 fit snug. Without actually measuring it could be assumed that the engineers at mototote have taken spare tire mounts into consideration. Just make sure you use the extra wobble control and tighten the bolts to reduce bouncing. I love this product. Yeah you could get a trailer for the same price but there is no better way to transport your baby. **Q: Is the loading ramp also 8.5 inch tire width or just the carrier** A: Yes the loading ramp will accommodate a tire width of up to 8.5 inches or 220 mm. **Q: is it made to go behind motor home an tow a car behind it** A: as long as u have a 2 inch hithe its good to go epensive but carrys 500 lbs minimumn doesnt sway like cheaper ones ive got 5000 miles on it still rock solid **Q: Does it going fit a stretch bike?** A: Only fits wheel base up 65". The pin to hold down the loading ramp didn't fit as shown in the official video on YouTube, so I had to squeeze it in to avoid flying on the highway. For FJ cruiser owners, it fits well with the spare rear tyre and can be adjusted, for my scooter I squeezed it closer to the receiver due to its small size, for bigger bikes, just extend the rod away one extra hole.
